Morning Joe co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough were two of the most over the top Trump haters in the media.
The two used to be friends with Trump but turned on him during the 2016 election.
Joe and Mika then spent the following eight years railing about Trump on their show.
Before the election, the pair went as far as to compare Trump to Hitler with Scarbrough saying, “now we’re just going full-on Hitler talking about vermin” when talking about Trump’s comments about illegal aliens running amok in America.
The day after the election, Mika wore all black to show the Left they should treat Trump’s re-election like a funeral.
That’s why it was so stunning to see the pair come on the air November 18 and announce that they traveled to Mar-a-Lago three days prior to try and make peace with Trump.
Mika said it was the first time they had seen Trump in seven years.
Scarborough told viewers that they met with Trump to discuss Trump’s second term agenda.
“Now, we talked about a lot of issues, including abortion, mass deportation, threats of political retribution against political opponents and media outlets. We talked about that a good bit,” Scarborough stated.
Mika explained why the two met with Trump, despite seven years of smearing Trump as a fascist on the air.
“He seemed interested in finding common ground with Democrats on some of the most divisive issues,” Mika added. “For those asking why we would go speak to the President-elect during such fraught times, especially between us, I guess I would ask back: why wouldn’t we?”
Mika sounded like she was discussing reopening diplomatic relations with a hostile country when she tried to justify the pow wow.
“Joe and I realize it’s time to do something different. That starts with not only talking about Donald Trump but also talking with him,” Mika added.
Scarborough then absurdly claimed a meeting with Trump could be seen as “normalizing” him – the fact that Trump won the popular vote and the electoral college settled that – and pledged to continue their critical coverage of Trump.
“Don’t be mistaken, we’re not here to defend or normalize Donald Trump,” Scarborough continued. “We are here to report on him and to hopefully provide you insights that are going to better equip all of us in understanding these deeply unsettling times.”
“We’re not going to war. We’re going to work,” Scarbough concluded.
Joe and Mika’s announcement wasn’t well received at all on the Left.

Joe and Mika likely had ulterior motives when they met with Trump.
Ratings at MSNBC nosedived after the election.
Viewership plunged 54 percent in the week following Trump’s win as a sizeable chunk of the audience fled after realizing the network misled them as channel’s host and commentators all made it seem like Kamala Harris was on a glide path to victory.
