Chuck Schumer entered a political minefield.

He was trying to solve one crisis but ended up creating another.

And Chuck Schumer stepped over this line that brought back a scandal from his past.

Schumer meddles in Israel-Hamas war on behalf of pro-Hamas Democrat base

Senate Major Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stunned the political world by taking to the Senate floor and calling for the ouster of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu through Israel holding new elections.

“As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after October 7. The world has changed, radically, since then, and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past,” Schumer declared.

He crossed the line into condemning the Israeli government on behalf of the Palestinians because a Quinnipiac poll released that day had former President Donald Trump up by four points on President Joe Biden in Michigan.

Biden only won Michigan by 154,000 votes in the 2020 Election, but more than 100,000 Democrats – many of the Muslims living in the Detroit area – voted uncommitted in the February 28 Democrat Primary to send a message to him that he needed to side with Hamas in this conflict.

Schumer decried the fact that Netanyahu wouldn’t end his operation to destroy Hamas and just accept the fact that the terrorist group slaughtered 1,200 innocent people on October 7.

“Five months into this conflict, it is clear that Israelis need to take stock of the situation and ask: must we change course?” Schumer added. “At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy and open decision-making process about the future of Israel, at a time when so many Israelis have lost their confidence in the vision and direction of their government.”

Netanyahu responds to Schumer’s attack

Schumer claimed Netanyahu would never accept Hamas’ call for a ceasefire – which would hand them ultimate victory as it would allow them to massacre Jews at will and remain in power in the Gaza Strip – so he told the Israeli Prime Minister needed to go.

“Nobody expects Prime Minister Netanyahu to do the things that must be done to break the cycle of violence, preserve Israel’s credibility on the world stage, and work towards a two-state solution,” Schumer concluded.

Netanyahu’s Likud Party fired back in an angry statement telling Schumer to stop meddling in their domestic politics.

“Israel is not a banana republic, but an independent and proud democracy that elected Prime Minister Netanyahu,” the statement said. “Contrary to Schumer’s words, the Israeli public supports a total victory over Hamas” and “opposes the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza.”

Schumer’s hypocrisy on display

In 2016, Chuck Schumer was very much against foreign meddling in elections.

He called for an investigation into the false claims that Russia colluded with Trump during the campaign while condemning its government for interfering in America’s domestic politics.

“Reports of the CIA’s conclusion that Russia actively sought to help elect Donald Trump are simultaneously stunning and not surprising, given Russia’s disdain for democracy and admiration for autocracy,” Schumer ranted.

Israel is an American ally.

But Schumer torched relations with them over the panic on the Left that pro-Hamas Democrats will stay home in November and hand Michigan’s Electoral College votes to Donald Trump.
