Sunny Hostin Reveals Exactly How the View Wants Trump Removed After Midterms

Sunny Hostin looked at her live audience and said it was time to start "considering the 25th Amendment."

She tied that plan directly to what happens if Republicans lose the midterms this November.

Hostin says she already knows exactly how the cabinet would push Trump out.

Tuesday's season premiere of The View opened with Hostin dressing up a coup as a hypothetical.

"My question is when do we really start, in earnest, and I mean this honestly, considering the 25th Amendment," Hostin said.

She did not stop at the question.

Hostin laid out a full scenario for removing a sitting president on national television.

"I think when the Republicans lose the House, and they lose the Senate, they're going to want to have some control over this person," Hostin said.

She kept going: "This person that is in the office, and [JD Vance] would then be that replacement, and I wonder if the cabinet then looks at each other and says, okay, we've got to take control of this, 25th Amendment."

Read that sentence again.

Hostin did not call Trump "the president."

She called the sitting president "this person" – twice – while auditioning his own vice president to replace him.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump White House official who has spent years criticizing her old boss, still would not sign onto the theory.

"I think if they didn't do it after January 6, in that period before he left office, it's never going to happen," Griffin said, live on air.

The View Has Cried Wolf on This Exact Amendment Before

Hostin did not invent this theory Tuesday morning.

Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar have both called for Trump's removal under the 25th Amendment before, according to Fox News.

Trump's actual first-term cabinet discussed the 25th Amendment after the Capitol riot in January 2021.

Nothing happened.

Officials floated it in private conversations, and Trump left office on schedule two weeks later without a single cabinet signature against him.

Griffin referenced that exact history to shut Hostin down in real time.

Democrats have tried some version of this play for a decade now, from the Russia collusion probe to two separate impeachments, and Trump outlasted every single one.

Whoopi Goldberg told viewers "our lives literally depend on this" while pushing them to vote Democratic in November, according to NewsBusters.

A daytime talk show turned its season opener into a coaching session on how to vote out Republicans and remove the president those voters elected.

Vance Would Have to Fire the Man Who Made Him Vice President

Section 4 of the 25th Amendment does not work the way Hostin described it.

The vice president and a majority of the cabinet have to sign a written declaration that the president cannot discharge his duties.

Trump would contest that declaration within hours.

Congress then gets 21 days to settle it, and it takes two thirds of both the House and the Senate to keep him out of the Oval Office.

Hostin's plan requires JD Vance to formally declare the man who put him a heartbeat from the presidency unfit for office.

It requires a Republican cabinet Trump built himself to turn on him in writing.

It requires two thirds of a Senate majority Hostin herself predicts will shrink, not grow, after the midterms.

None of that has anything to do with mental fitness.

It has everything to do with Sunny Hostin wanting a different president than the one voters picked twice.

ABC broadcasts over a public license, and telling millions of viewers exactly how to vote from behind the Hot Topics desk lands awfully close to the electioneering line the FCC exists to police.

This is not a legal threat, it is a fundraising and turnout script, recycled from 2021 and dusted off for a midterm year.

Expect the same clip, the same amendment, and the same panicked math again in 2028, no matter who wins in November.
