Two names are now surging inside Trump world for her replacement.

Leavitt's Exit Letter Reveals the Real Reason She's Leaving

Leavitt didn't get pushed out. She walked away on her own terms, and she said exactly why.

"The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary," Leavitt wrote in her resignation statement.

That's not a scandal. That's a mother making a choice the liberal media will never understand.

Trump confirmed the departure himself, praising Leavitt's work at the podium and announcing she'll stay on as a top outside advisor.

Vice President JD Vance piled on too, posting on X that Leavitt handled "one of the hardest jobs in the Administration" with "grace, wit and a smile on her face" while absorbing "relentless attacks from the fake news media" every single day.

Leavitt made clear her fight isn't over. "Our country is facing an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democrat Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America," she wrote, "and I believe it is incumbent upon all of us who care about this country to fight back against that threat."

She's leaving the podium. She's not leaving the war.

Alina Habba and Matthew Boyle Emerge As Frontrunners

Now the real question. Who takes over the most-watched microphone in Washington.

Two names are climbing fast among Trump insiders tracking the search.

The first is Alina Habba, Trump's fiercely loyal former personal attorney who stood at his side through years of legal warfare launched by Democrat prosecutors before Trump tapped her for a top Justice Department post in New Jersey.

The second is Matthew Boyle, Breitbart News' Washington bureau chief, a reporter who has spent years inside the briefing room asking the questions the mainstream press refused to touch.

When a panel of New Jersey federal judges ruled she wasn't legally serving in her own job as acting U.S. Attorney, Habba didn't quietly step aside and let Democrat-appointed judges push her out the door – she looked into a camera and said "I don't cower to pressure."

Both names carry the same message. Trump wants someone who will fight, not someone who will apologize for him.

The Media Is Already Panicking Over Who Comes Next

CNN spent Leavitt's entire tenure mocking her age and her marriage.

Now the same network is running an "analysis" piece claiming Leavitt is somehow impossible to replace.

That tells you everything. The press wasn't afraid of Leavitt's age – they were afraid of losing to her every single day at that podium.

Trump has replaced press secretaries before, and every single time the same media class predicted disaster.

Sean Spicer left in 2017. Sarah Huckabee Sanders took the podium, became one of the most effective communicators in modern White House history, and later won the Arkansas governor's mansion.

Trump doesn't rebuild from scratch – he promotes people who already know how to win the fight, and that pattern points straight at Habba or Boyle.

The next press secretary won't just read talking points. They'll walk in already trained to dismantle the exact reporters trying to trap them.

That's the real story here. Democrats and their media allies thought Leavitt leaving meant weakness, and Trump is about to prove them wrong again with whoever takes that podium next.
