A Liberal Reporter Melted Down Over the Louise Lucas FBI Raid and Immediately Got Buried

Sam Stein spent years watching the left use the FBI as a political weapon and never said a word.
The moment the bureau showed up at a Democrat's door, he had a lot to say.
What happened next is something he probably wishes he could take back.
Sam Stein Called the Louise Lucas FBI Raid Political Before Reading the Story
The FBI raided the Portsmouth office of Louise Lucas on Wednesday – Virginia's Senate President pro tempore, 35-year incumbent, and one of the loudest Democrats behind the gerrymandered congressional map that handed her party a 10-to-1 House advantage in the state.
Before anyone had time to read past the headline, Stein was on Twitter.
His observation: Fox News had its London correspondent conveniently positioned in Portsmouth right as the raid went down.
That, he argued, suggested FBI coordination with media – evidence of political targeting by the Trump administration.
The internet responded immediately.
"You mean like when the Biden admin sent CNN to mar-a-lago? You had zero issues with that right?" one user replied.
Another pointed out that CNN had its entire mobile camera team and correspondents placed in Fort Lauderdale for Roger Stone's pre-dawn arrest – a raid Stein never once described as politically coordinated.
Stein acknowledged those prior cases existed.
Then he kept going anyway.
Biden DOJ Opened the Louise Lucas Bribery Investigation — Not Trump
Here is what Stein would have found if he had read past the headline before firing off tweets.
The New York Times reported it in the lead paragraph.
Two people familiar with the case told the Times the search was tied to an investigation opened during the Biden administration – examining possible corruption and bribery related to marijuana dispensary businesses.
Biden's FBI.
Biden's Justice Department.
A federal judge reviewed the evidence and signed the search warrants before a single agent walked through the door.
Lucas co-owns a cannabis dispensary called The Cannabis Outlet right next door to her office – which was also raided simultaneously.
The shop had previously drawn state regulatory scrutiny after products were allegedly found mislabeled or exceeding legal THC limits.
None of that has anything to do with her redistricting push.
All of it has to do with an alleged bribery scheme that Joe Biden's own people decided was worth investigating years before Trump returned to office.
The Same Media That Ignored the Roger Stone Raid Is Screaming About Louise Lucas
Democrats lined up behind the meltdown narrative anyway.
Lucas herself showed up in the parking lot during the raid, told Fox News she had no idea what was happening, and left.
She posted on social media that night that she is "not backing down."
Her gerrymandered map, separately, is on life support in court – facing its own legal crisis for entirely different reasons.
The left spent four years telling America that search warrants were instruments of political terror when they landed on Republicans.
They argued that press access to raids proved White House coordination with law enforcement.
Both of those arguments apply here – except the investigation was Biden's, the warrant was signed by a judge, and the target is accused of taking bribes connected to a drug business.
Sam Stein knew all of that was sitting in paragraph one of the New York Times story.
He posted his thread before reading it.
