California Governor Gavin Newsom wanted to make a national splash.

But Newsom picked the wrong fight.

And Greg Gutfeld took aim at Gavin Newsom for this big lie.

In case anyone had any doubts, California Governor Gavin Newsom is running for President.

Newsom started a podcast and told Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk that he now opposed biological males playing women’s sports.

“Well, I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness, it’s deeply unfair,” Newsom stated. “I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.”

Newsom framed it as an issue of simple fairness.

“I revere sports, so the issue of fairness is completely legit,” Newsom continued.

Greg Gutfeld knew a fraud when he saw one.

And Gutfeld instantly knew Newsom was trying to pull the wool over the eyes of voters.

Polls show that nearly 80 percent of Americans oppose men in women’s sports.

Newsom used the fact that the guest he was speaking to is a high-profile Trump supporter to make it seem like he was having a “Sister Soulja” moment.

Gutfeld knew that wasn’t the case.

“Except he’s still lying,” Gutfeld exclaimed.

As proof, Gutfeld noted that Newsom still hewed to the lies the woke mob tells parents about how if kids don’t undergo transgender surgeries, they will develop mental issues.

“He said that the trans are a group prone to suicide because people don’t accept them. There is absolutely no data on that, and it’s a dangerous fact. In fact, the study — the data shows dramatic increases in depression post trans surgery. Why is that not surprising?” Gutfeld added.

Gutfeld fumed that Newsom amplified the same lie as doctors who tried to emotionally blackmail parents into allowing their kids to undergo transgender surgeries did when they asked moms and dads if they wanted their child to live or die.

“What’s crazy about this and what’s so wrong about what he said is remember the story you were told, doctors pressuring parents into surgery for their kids by asking this one question, would you rather have a dead son or a living daughter? That was a criminal question, a criminal lie,” Gutfeld continued. “Every doctor who asked that question should be disbarred and perhaps charged with something, because that’s the same lie that Gavin is pushing.”

The science supports Gutfeld.

Researchers at the University of Texas studied 100,000 men and women who suffered from gender dysphoria.

Both men and women who underwent transgender surgeries reported higher rates of depression and anxiety than those that didn’t.

“Males with surgery had depression rates of 25% compared to males without surgery (11.5%). Anxiety rates among that group were 12.8% compared to 2.6%.” a Fox News report read. “The same differences were seen among females, as those with surgery had 22.9% depression rates compared to 14.6% in the non-surgical group. Females who underwent surgery also had anxiety rates of 10.5% compared to 7.1% without surgery.”

Gavin Newsom wants to make it look like he’s an ally of parents and girls who play sports.

But the truth is, Newsom is anything but.
