Nancy Pelosi was scared when this secret plan to cling to power was exposed
Nancy Pelosi had been a fixture in Washington, D.C. for decades.
She will do anything to make sure that Democrats win.
And Nancy Pelosi was scared when this secret plan to cling to power was exposed.
House Democrats funded third-party candidates to hurt Republicans
House Republicans barely held on to their majority after the election.
Democrats gained one seat, which left Republicans with the slimmest House majority since 1930.
House Democrats were able to keep Republicans from picking up seats, despite a big win from President-elect Donald Trump at the top of the ticket in part from a dirty trick.
Campaign finance after the election reveals that Democrats spent $5.8 million in more than two dozen races, propping Libertarian or independent candidates to siphon off votes from the Republican candidate.
The House Majority PAC, a PAC aligned with former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), donated nearly $4 million to the Voter Protection Project, which used the money to support Libertarian or independent candidates in five House races.
One of the closest losses from Republicans in the House this year came in Ohio’s 9th congressional district.
Representative Marcy Kaptur defeated her Republican challenger Derek Merrin by 2,382 votes.
The Libertarian candidate Tom Pruss received over 15,000 votes after the Voter Protection Project spent $423,263 on direct mail and digital ads for him.
A mailer called Merrin, an Ohio State Representative, a “corrupt and self-serving politician,” while calling Pruss a “principled conservative rooting out corruption in Washington” who would “secure our border.”
Representative Matt Cartwright (D-PA), who lost by about 6,000 votes said that Kaptur told him that Pruss made a difference in her race.
“She told me about her Libertarian and she does think that that had a significant effect on her election,” Cartwright recalled. “I was only half joking when I said, ‘I wish I had one, too’.”
Democrats meddle in more House races
Representative Don Davis (D-NC) won a close race in North Carolina’s 1st Congressional district over his Republican challenger Laurie Buckout by 6,303 votes.
The Libertarian candidate in the race, Tom Bailey, received 9,949 votes.
A group named Save Western Culture spent nearly $50,000 on digital ads and direct mail supporting Bailey.
The group was also involved in races where there was no third-party candidate by trying to reduce support for the Republican candidate.
Save Western Culture sent text messages to voters, alerting them that Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) was “Mexican-born.”
Ciscomani went on to narrowly win his race against his Democrat challenger.
A robocall from the group attacked a Republican candidate for admitting that President Joe Biden won the 2020 Election.
Save Western Culture is connected to Democrats and former aide to John McCain and lobbyist Gibson McKay.
Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) called this kind of meddling a “dangerous strategy.”
“It’s a very dangerous strategy,” Moulton said. “But let’s be honest, there are some places where it’s worked. So I understand why people look at it.”
House Democrats will use every trick in the book to try and win an election.
