Megyn Kelly told Republicans they need to draw this line in the sand on future debates
The CBS debate between J.D. Vance and Tim Walz was another debacle.
Once again, left-wing moderators ruined the proceeding.
And Megyn Kelly told Republicans they need to draw this line in the sand on future debates.
Megyn Kelly tells Republicans to bail on future debates
Like ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis, CBS moderators Margaret Brennan and Norah O’Donnell interfered in a debate by live fact-checking the Republican on stage.
And like Muir and Davis, they had their facts wrong.
At one point Brennan tried to fact-check U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) by falsely claiming the Haitian illegal aliens in Springfield, Ohio were in America legally.
Vance tried to describe how Vice President Kamala Harris bent U.S. law to grant amnesty to these Haitians.
“So there’s an application called the CBP One app, where you can go on as an illegal migrant, apply for asylum or apply for parole, and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand,” Vance began to explain before the moderators shut off his microphone.
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly said enough was enough.
Writing on her website Kelly urged Republicans to swear off future debates as long as they were solely under the purview of left-wing networks with their biased moderators.
“The media bias has gotten so out of control I don’t think Republicans should be agreeing to do any more of these debates, at any point, on any of these networks. The only way they should opt in going forward is if there is an equal number in a forum of their choosing,” Kelly began.
She argued that the only way the next GOP nominee should agree to debates is if the Democrats agree that each campaign gets to pick the forum for an equal number of debates.
“They can let the Democrats choose between ABC News, NBC News, CBS News, CNN, and even MSNBC. Tell them that they can pick two, and then Republicans pick two. They can then propose one with The Megyn Kelly Show and one with Fox News or whatever it is,” Kelly continued.
The controversy over shutting off the microphone
A New York Post editorial outlined the problem with Brennan and O’Donnell shutting off Vance’s microphone.
The Post wrote that Vance was in the process of ticking off a point-by-point rebuttal to Brennan’s false fact check of how Kamala abused U.S. law to grant amnesty to a group of illegal aliens.
“Moreover, asylum law requires that seekers apply in the first safe country they enter. The White House is ignoring that rule. Venezuelans can walk through a half-dozen nations where they could apply for asylum, and they still let them apply here. They aren’t required to remain in Mexico while their applications are processed, as former President Donald Trump required,” the Post stated.
Brennan’s incorrect fact check left the impression these Haitian illegal aliens followed all proper channels and procedures and were simply waiting for a green card.
Megyn Kelly told readers that she had been a debate moderator and the only reason to shut off a microphone is if the candidates on stage get out of hand.
But Vance was making a substantive policy point and Brennan and O’Donnell silencing him deprived the American people of vital information on an issue voters say is one of their top concerns.
Kelly – however – had no doubt why O’Donnell and Brennan acted like they did.
They are Democrat partisans who think their job is to do everything in their power to keep former President Donald Trump out of the White House.
“But there is a reason Margaret Brennan and CBS News stepped in when they did. It is the same reason that, according to the Media Research Center, 84 percent of the coverage on the CBS Evening News has been positive when talking about Kamala Harris, while 79 percent of the coverage has been negative when talking about Donald Trump. It is nearly the exact same figure only reverse on the positivity and the negativity,” Kelly stated.
“They are in the tank for Team Blue, and it is outrageous. I know we are used to it, but it is not okay to be used to it. Your blood must boil,” Kelly concluded.
