Iran steps up plans to assassinate Donald Trump
Perhaps no foreign country fears former President Donald Trump returning to the White House more than Iran.
Trump pulled out of former President Barack Obama’s disastrous nuclear deal and slapped on sanctions that bankrupted Iran’s economy.
Vice President Kamala Harris rescinded these sanctions and unfroze $6 billion in Iranian assets which allowed the Islamic government to fund terror attacks like the October 7 Hamas strike in Israel.
But Iran doesn’t just hope Kamala wins the election.
It’s trying to guarantee her victory by killing Donald Trump.
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung released a statement that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence briefed the campaign on credible intelligence of Iranian-backed assassination plots currently underway against Donald Trump.
“President Trump was briefed earlier today by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him in an effort to destabilize and sow chaos in the United States,” Cheung began.
“Intelligence officials have identified that these continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months, and law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and the election is free from interference,” Cheung added.
“Make no mistake, the terror regime in Iran loves the weakness of Kamala Harris, and is terrified of the strength and resolve of President Trump,” Cheung continued.
A previous Iranian-backed threat on Trump’s life
Shortly after an assassin shot Trump in the head at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Washington Post reported federal authorities unsealed federal charges against “Asif Merchant, 46, of Pakistan with a murder-for-hire plot to assassinate a politician or U.S. government official on American soil. Authorities said they foiled it before any violence could be attempted — in part because the people Merchant allegedly tried to hire were undercover FBI agents.”
The Post reported Iran backed Merchant’s murder-for-hire plot to kill Trump.
Trump reacted to the news on Truth Social warning Iran that killing a Presidential candidate would be seen as an act of war.
But he also tried to reassure Americans of his safety by informing them that he finally received – after multiple failed assassination attempts – the necessary increase in security.
“Big threats on my life by Iran. The entire U.S. Military is watching and waiting. Moves were already made by Iran that didn’t work out, but they will try again. Not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before. Thank you to Congress for unanimously approving far more money to Secret Service – Zero “NO” Votes, strictly bipartisan. Nice to see Republicans and Democrats get together on something. An attack on a former President is a Death Wish for the attacker!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
No Presidential candidate has ever been under more threat.
