White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre can’t go a day without a viral gaffe on social media.

Jean-Pierre always manages to outdo herself.

And Karine Jean-Pierre looked like a fool in this astonishing moment caught on camera.

Jean-Pierre’s false claims on inflation

President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion socialist spending bill may turn out of to be one of the all-time policy blunders.

Even left-wing economists like former chief Obama economic advisor Lawrence Summers warned pumping trillions of new spending into the economy would light the fires of inflation.

Biden and his handlers plowed ahead anyway.

And, as a result, inflation surged to 9 percent year-over-year in growth in 2022 which registered as a 40-year high.

Inflation was 1.4 percent when former President Donald Trump left office.

Americans can remember that during Trump’s four years in office, they could afford gas and groceries.

This is why polls show Americans overwhelmingly believe he was a more successful President than Joe Biden.

And that number – more than anything – is why polls show Donald Trump as the favorite to win the White House this fall.

Even the Democrats preferred framing of the election – a choice between Donald Trump and Joe Biden – cuts against them because if the election is a simple referendum on who the public prefers, life on Trump’s watch or Biden’s then Trump will win easily.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sought to address Biden’s weakness on inflation during an interview on MSNBC by falsely claiming he made progress on inflation.

“So, yes, there were grocery things – eggs, milk that went up. It has gone down since 2022,” Jean-Pierre began.

She then blamed the Russian invasion of Ukraine for the increase in gas prices.

“Gas prices – because of the actions that this President took – let’s not forget there was an invasion where Russia, did obviously into Ukraine, that caused gas prices to tick up – the President took action and tapped the SPR [Strategic Petroleum Reserve] and we saw gas prices down,” Jean-Pierre added.

“The President has met the moment with every issue we’ve had in front of us,” Jean-Pierre concluded.

What Jean-Pierre left out

This misleading political spin left out several key facts.

Joe Biden’s weakness and continuing to play footsie with inviting Ukraine into NATO caused the Russian invasion.

Breitbart’s Wendell Husebø also pointed out that Jean-Pierre wasn’t telling the truth when she claimed food prices were going down.

“Food prices jumped 6.3% in 2021, and 10.4% in 2022. In 2023, food-price increases 2.7%,” Husebø posted on X.

“Groceries that cost $100 in 2020 would now cost $125.80,” Husebø added.

Democrats can’t avoid the fact that Americans blame Biden for inflation.

And the argument made by Democrats that Biden’s brought inflation down also falls flat.

That’s because inflation is cumulative.

When the press claims inflation is cooling because the May report showed inflation rising at 3.3 percent that isn’t really true.

That still means prices are up over three percent from a year ago.
