Alvin Bragg’s trial against Donald Trump begins on April 15.

This is the first time a former President faced criminal charges.

Now Alina Habba revealed a dirty secret about Alvin Bragg that Democrats wanted to bury.

Habba says Biden Justice Department behind Bragg case

Trump lawyer Alina Habba went on Rob Schmitt’s Newsmax show and blasted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for coordinating with President Joe Biden’s Justice Department on the politically-motivated case he is set to bring to trial.

“[Garland’s] the puppeteer, effectively, and so is the current President, or resident, as I call him, in the White House. Truly, there is obviously a coordinated effort. There’s no question about that,” Habba declared.

Bragg charged former President Donald Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records by reimbursing Michael Cohen for a $130,000 payment to conceal a nondisclosure agreement in October 2016 and then listing it in company records as for legal services.

This is normally a misdemeanor charge with a two-year statute of limitations that long ago expired.

But Bragg bootstrapped it up to a felony by claiming Trump falsified business records to cover up another crime.

Trump isn’t charged with another crime and Bragg claims he doesn’t even have to say what this second crime is.

Habba says charges are the punishment for Trump running for office

Bragg’s predecessor refused to bring charges in this case because it was legally preposterous.

Former Manhattan District Attorney’s Office prosecutor Mark Pomerantz described it in his book as a “zombie case” that refused to go away because prosecutors had nothing else to change Trump with, but they regarded it as a dead man walking from a legal perspective.

But after Trump announced he was running for President in November 2022, Bragg quickly fast-tracked the case and indicted him before the five-year statute of limitations on the felony charges expired in May.

Habba explained this backstory of him dredging up the case no one wanted to touch as evidence Democrats were just desperate to indict Trump on any charge they could find to derail his campaign.

“Back in the day, this case was looked at, it was investigated, charges were not brought. Indictments were not made because they knew the case was not real,” Habba stated. “Then [Trump] ran for office. They bring the charges. If you look at that timeline alone, I wanna know how they’re gonna wipe this story away because it speaks volumes. You didn’t bring the charges. You said there was no story.”

“And then he runs for office, and they bring an indictment on this case,” Habba continued. “And that case that’s going forward in April is another disgrace and shows the demise of the state of New York, which I used to love.”

She also revealed how former Biden Justice Department official Matt Colangelo went to work for Bragg shortly before he brought this case as further evidence of collusion between the White House and the Manhattan District Attorney.

“It’s disgusting. Just look at the White House log,” Habba added. “If anybody wants to tell me something’s not coordinated, explain to me why a state official, who is supposed to be elected by their state and work for their state constituents, is now working with the White House administration.

“It makes no sense,” Habba concluded.
