Democrats know they can’t run on President Joe Biden’s record.
A brand-new Marist poll of the key swing state of Pennsylvania showed that 54 percent of voters thought life for their family was better under former President Donald Trump than him.
54 percent also said Trump’s Presidency was better for the country than Biden’s.
In the fact of these poll numbers, Democrats are creating an increasingly unhinged series of conspiracy theories to try and frighten their voters out to the polls.
As an offshoot of the lie that Donald Trump will end American democracy, Democrats are now claiming the Supreme Court is the latest enabler of tyranny in America.
This latest big lie stems from a hit piece in the New York Times smearing Justice Samuel Alito for being an insurrectionist because his wife flew a flag at their home at the Jersey Shore that George Washington commissioned during the Revolutionary War.
Alito refused to recuse himself from the Donald Trump Presidential immunity case on the sensible ground that no reasonable person would think he has a conflict of interest because of his wife’s political views.
In an appearance on MSNBC’s 11th Hour, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) ranted and raved about Alito following standard Supreme Court conduct procedures signaling the end of democracy in America.
“Justice Alito’s position is laughable in this. This idea that he can be and that the court should be accountable to nobody and that the only person they should be accountable to themselves,” Ocasio-Cortez began.
“This kind of scout’s promise sort of set up for how we should be having ethics standards for the highest and most consequential court in the land,” Ocasio-Cortez added.
Ocasio-Cortez tries to rally the base
Polls show Joe Biden has trouble with young and black voters.
Ocasio-Cortez can’t make the argument that under Biden they can afford to buy a house.
So instead, she played the fear card to falsely claim that conservatives like Samuel Alito would turn America into a fascist dictatorship.
“It is completely unacceptable, and not only is it unacceptable but to have anyone of our coequal branches be completely unaccountable to the others is paving the path to authoritarianism, tyranny, the abuse of power in the United States,” Ocasio-Cortez added.
And to try and induce Democrats to turn out in November, Ocasio-Cortez floated the possibility of Senate Democrats packing the Supreme Court if they won the election.
“It is structurally, completely unsustainable. So, it is not a question of if Congress has jurisdiction and power over the Supreme Court. It is what power are we going to exercise in order to reign in a fundamentally unaccountable and rogue court?” Ocasio-Cortez concluded.
