Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the biggest movie star in Hollywood.

But he had a message that isn’t what one normally hears coming from a major celebrity.

And The Rock picked one fight that left Democrats red with rage.

The Rock rips woke cancel culture

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sat down with Fox News’ Will Cain on the eve of WrestleMania 40 being held in Philadelphia, where he was scheduled to appear in the main event.

Cain asked Johnson – who’s harbored political ambitions to run for President in the past – what was one thing he believed and was willing to discuss publicly no matter how unpopular it was.

Johnson took dead aim at the woke mob saying he valued being “real” more than anything and that he was tired of the outrage brigade looking to cancel everyone who refused to conform to their demented point of view.

“To be real and to be direct and to be open and to be transparent . . . that’s important to me,” Johnson stated. “In today’s easy cancel culture world and cancel culture, woke culture, this culture, that culture division, etc., that really bugs me.”

“You either succumb and be what you think other people want you to be, or you go, ‘No, that’s not who I am. I’m going to be myself and I’m going to be real.’ If you ask me something, a real answer is important, and the truthful answer is important, and that may get people upset and may p**s people off. And that’s okay,” Johnson added. “But it took me some time to recognize that.”

The Rock’s comments show shifting political winds

Johnson built himself up to the point where he is the biggest box office draw in Hollywood.

Starring roles in The Fast and the Furious franchise, Jumanji, Disney’s Jungle Cruise, and Black Adam made him the heir to 80s action movie hero icons like Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The easiest thing in the world for him to do would be to ignore cancel culture and endorse the woke mob through silence.

But Johnson didn’t.

And more tellingly, he spoke against woke ideology and cancel culture on Fox News, a network loathed by the Left.

Normally a star like Johnson would never in a million years say anything that might upset the Left out of fear of losing work.

That he felt comfortable slaying the Left’s sacred cows on the cable news channel they wished they could censor out of existence was a signal that there’s no political penalty – even in mainstream Democrat Party circles – to take a stand against the Stalinist demands for ideological conformity on issues of race, gender, and transgenderism.
