Zohran Mamdani’s ICE Video Just Proved How Unprepared He Is To Run New York City

New York City's next mayor is making it clear where his priorities lie.
And they're not with the safety and security of law-abiding Americans.
Because Zohran Mamdani's ICE video just proved how unprepared he is to run New York City.
Mayor-Elect Turns Pearl Harbor Day Into Immigration Instruction Manual
While most Americans spent Sunday honoring the 83rd anniversary of Pearl Harbor and reflecting on the heroes who defended this nation, Zohran Mamdani had other plans.
The socialist mayor-elect of New York City posted a video on social media that reads like a step-by-step instruction manual for illegals on how to obstruct federal law enforcement.
Complete with whiteboard diagrams and Spanish subtitles, Mamdani's Sunday video coaching session came after roughly 200 protesters physically blocked ICE agents from leaving a Chinatown parking garage the previous weekend.
Standing in front of his flip chart titled "Know your rights," Mamdani positioned himself as the protector of what he calls the city's "more than 3 million immigrants."
"Last weekend, ICE attempted to raid Canal Street and detain our immigrant neighbors," Mamdani announced. "As mayor, I'll protect the rights of every single New Yorker. And that includes the more than 3 million immigrants who call this city their home."
Then came the how-to portion of his presentation.
"ICE cannot enter into private spaces like your home, school, or private area of your workplace without a judicial warrant signed by a judge," Mamdani explained, helpfully displaying what a real warrant looks like versus the paperwork ICE agents typically present.
He then told viewers that "ICE is legally allowed to lie to you" and coached them to repeatedly ask "Am I free to go?" if detained.
The video concluded with Mamdani's not-so-subtle encouragement of anti-ICE street protests, declaring "New Yorkers have a constitutional right to protest, and when I'm mayor, we will protect that right."¹
Mamdani's Track Record Shows Pattern Of Opposing Federal Law Enforcement
The 33-year-old socialist has spent years building a reputation for attacking federal immigration enforcement.
During his mayoral campaign, Mamdani described ICE as "a rogue agency, one that has no interest in laws, no interest in order."²
He's promised to expand city-funded legal defense for illegals and vowed to uphold so-called "Sanctuary City" policies that bar local law enforcement from cooperating with federal agents.
In one particularly revealing post-election speech, Mamdani threatened federal agents directly, stating "If you violate the law, you must be held accountable" – suggesting he might actually try to arrest ICE officers doing their jobs.³
President Trump hasn't forgotten any of this.
The President repeatedly called Mamdani a "communist lunatic" during the campaign and warned that if elected, Mamdani would "destroy New York City."
Trump even threatened to withhold federal funding from the city if Mamdani interfered with ICE operations.⁴

The Timing Couldn't Be More Insulting
What makes Mamdani's Sunday video particularly galling is the date he chose to release it.
December 7th – Pearl Harbor Day – represents one of the most sacred days in American history, when 2,403 Americans died defending this country against foreign attack.
But Mamdani decided that was the perfect moment to post a video helping illegals evade the federal agents charged with protecting our borders.
The symbolism couldn't be clearer.
While Americans were remembering those who sacrificed everything to defend our nation's sovereignty, New York City's next mayor was coaching foreign nationals on how to obstruct the enforcement of our immigration laws.
The video went viral for all the wrong reasons.
Conservative commentators immediately blasted Mamdani for what they correctly identified as aiding and abetting criminal activity.
"Aiding abetting and advising criminals," wrote political commentator Liz Rios.⁵
Even some Democrats seemed uncomfortable with how far Mamdani went.
A Preview Of Four Years Of Obstruction
This video is campaign rhetoric becoming governing reality.
Mamdani takes office January 1st, and he's already showing New Yorkers exactly what they voted for – a mayor more concerned with protecting illegals than supporting federal law enforcement.
The contrast with Trump's agenda couldn't be starker.
While the President works to secure America's borders and remove criminal aliens from our communities, New York's next mayor is literally creating instructional videos on how to interfere with those operations.
The Canal Street incidents Mamdani referenced in his video demonstrate what's coming.
In late November, approximately 200 protesters physically blocked ICE agents from leaving a parking garage for hours, trapping federal law enforcement officers inside.⁶
When police finally dispersed the mob, protesters threw garbage and debris at officers.
Earlier in October, ICE arrested nine illegal alien street vendors on Canal Street, sparking violent confrontations where protesters attacked federal agents who responded with riot shields and batons.⁷
These aren't peaceful demonstrations.
They're coordinated efforts to obstruct federal law enforcement – exactly what Mamdani's video encourages.
What's particularly revealing is the timing of all this.
Mamdani met with President Trump at the White House just two weeks ago, where both leaders described their conversation as surprisingly cordial and productive.
Trump praised Mamdani's campaign and even said he'd feel comfortable living in New York under a Mamdani administration.⁸
That White House meeting now looks like pure political theater.
Behind Trump's back, Mamdani was already planning to release this instruction manual for obstructing federal immigration enforcement.
The video confirms what Trump's critics suspected all along – Mamdani played nice for the cameras while preparing to wage war against ICE operations the moment he takes office.
New York City residents should prepare for four years of this.
A mayor who treats federal law enforcement as the enemy rather than partners in public safety.
A mayor who prioritizes the interests of illegals over the safety of American citizens.
And a mayor who thinks Pearl Harbor Day is an appropriate time to post instructional videos on evading federal agents.
Zohran Mamdani will be inaugurated as New York City's 111th mayor on January 1, 2026.
