This wasn’t one of Nancy Pelosi’s shining moments.

In fact, she walked right into a trap.

And you’ll be speechless when you see this humiliating video of Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi embarrassed in debate on populism

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took part in a debate at the famed Oxford Union where she argued in favor of a motion that populism represents a threat to democracy.

In her argument, she claimed that conservatives attracted to populism are “poor souls who are looking for some answers.”

Pelosi claimed they refused to accept the solutions offered by the Democrat Party because they were ignorant bigots and potential domestic terrorists.

“We’ve given them to them, but they’re blocked by some of their views on guns – they have the three Gs, guns, gays, God, that would be a woman’s right to choose — and the cultural issues cloud some of their reception of an argument that really is in their interest.”

Opposing Pelosi was Winston Marshall, a former member of the popular band Mumford and Sons.

Marshall contended that left-wing elites like Pelosi couldn’t argue against populism on its merits so they resorted to simply shouting racist as loud as they could.

“‘Populism’ has become a word used synonymously with ‘racist.’ We’ve heard ‘ethno-nationalist,’ we have ‘bigot,’ we have ‘hillbilly,’ ‘redneck,’ we have ‘deplorable,’” Marshall stated.

“Elites use it to show their contempt for ordinary people,” Marshall added.

Marshall said leftists change the meaning of words when they lose arguments

As recently as the 2016 Presidential campaign, Marshall stated, leftists tried to assume the mantle of populism.

He recounted how in the 2016 campaign former President Barack Obama argued to voters that he and then-Democrat Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders – and not then-Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump – were the ones upholding the populist tradition.

“If anything, Obama argued that he was the populist. If anything, Obama argued that Bernie was the populist,” Marshall continued. “Something curious happens. If you watch Obama’s speeches after that point, more and more recently, he uses the word ‘populist’ interchangeably with ‘strong man,’ ‘authoritarian.’ The word changes meaning. It becomes a negative, a pejorative, a slur.”

The former member of Mumford and Sons also dismantled the argument made by Pelosi and others that Trump’s conservative populist movement is a unique threat because it incites political violence.

Marshall also said that while January 6 was a dark day, antifa’s months-long attack on a federal courthouse in Portland also amounted to an insurrection.

“I’m sure Congresswoman Pelosi will agree that the entire month of June 2020, when the federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon, was under siege and under insurrection by radical progressives, those, too, were dark days for America,” Marshall stated.

Pelosi – of course – wouldn’t recognize that reality.

“There is no equivalence there. . . .  It is not like what happened on January 6th, which was an insurrection incited by the President of the United States,” Pelosi shot back.

“My point, though, is that all political movements are susceptible to violence and, indeed, insurrection,” Marshall explained. “Populism is not a threat to democracy. Populism is democracy. And why else have universal suffrage if not to keep elites in check?”

Black Lives Matter’s summer-long riot in 2020 – where one attack on the White House was so serious it injured dozens of police and Secret Service agents while causing the protective detail to move Donald Trump and his family to the White House bunker for safety proved that point.

Pelosi blasted for hypocrisy

Democrats argue that Trump’s populist movement represents a threat to democracy because he won’t accept election results.

Marshall agreed that Trump should have accepted the results of the 2020 Election.

But Marshall also said Hillary Clinton and Pelosi should have accepted the results in 2016 instead of lying about the Russians stealing the Presidency by colluding with Trump.

“So should Hillary in 2016, so should Brussels and Westminster in 2016, and so, too, should Congresswoman Pelosi instead of saying the 2016 election was, quote, ‘hijacked,’” Marshall exclaimed.

“It was,” Pelosi interjected, clinging to the big lie about the Russians robbing Hillary of the Presidency.

Americans have rarely seen Nancy Pelosi in a debate setting.

After getting so thoroughly thrashed by a musician, Americans now understand why Pelosi avoids these settings.
