This smoking gun left Robert Mueller running for his life
Robert Mueller thought he had a key Trump associate dead to rights on collusion with Russia.
That would put him one step closer to removing the President.
But then someone discovered the smoking gun that sent Mueller running for his life.
Mueller’s investigation focused on Trump associate Roger Stone.
The special counsel worked to prove Stone communicated with WikiLeaks in advance about their releasing hacked emails obtained from the Democrats.
Since Mueller believes WikiLeaks is a front for Russian intelligence, that would allow Mueller to claim Stone – who knew Trump for 40 years and spoke with him during the campaign – colluded with the Russians.
Stone always denied these charges and testified to the House Intelligence Committee that New York City Radio host Randy Credico was his backchannel.
Credico denied this to Mueller’s grand jury.
But Stone’s lawyers retrieved text messages from 2016 that prove Stone told the truth.
In the messages, Credico passes along information – but never anything about the contents of what WikiLeaks had – about WikiLeaks intention to release information damaging to Hillary Clinton.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Julian Assange has kryptonite on Hillary,” Randy Credico wrote to Stone on Aug. 27, 2016, according to text messages that Stone provided to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
“You are not going to drag my name into this are you,” Credico wrote on Sept. 29, 2016, suggesting that he was worried that Stone would identify him as his source for public claims he was making about WikiLeaks’ plans.
“[B]ig news Wednesday,” Credico wrote on Oct. 1, 2016, days before WikiLeaks began releasing emails stolen from Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. “Now pretend u don’t know me.”
Credico also suggested in the texts that his source for some information about WikiLeaks was one of the group’s lawyers, who he said was one of his “best friends.” Stone has long claimed that the lawyer, Margaret Ratner Kunstler, was a source for Credico.
This text messages prove Stone told the truth.
They also destroy Mueller’s collusion case.
