This prominent far-left group claims the Second Amendment is rooted in “racism”
The Left’s attacks on America’s founding principles are becoming more frequent and unhinged.
Just recently, the Biden administration admitted it infringes on Americans’ freedom of speech by telling Facebook what types of posts it should censor as “misinformation.”
And now a prominent far-left group claimed the Second Amendment was rooted in “racism.”
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is a non-profit organization that “dares to create a more perfect union – beyond one person, party, or side.”
In reality, however, the ACLU exists today as a radical leftist institution that pushes for socialist policies throughout the United States and strives to completely dismantle the principles that America was founded on.
In their most recent attack on American ideals, the Second Amendment was right in their crosshairs.
In the recent ACLU podcast, “At Liberty,” Carol Anderson, professor of African American Studies at Emory University, claimed that “Anti-Blackness determined the inclusion of the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights, and has informed the unequal and racist application of gun laws.”
Anderson goes on to state, shockingly, that “sitting in our Bill of Rights is the right to control black people, is the right to destroy the rights of black people and that is so fundamentally just inherently wrong.”
Racism is foundational to the Second Amendment and its inclusion in the Bill of Rights.

Many on the Right correctly pointed out the blatant mischaracterization of the Second Amendment as flat-out wrong and irresponsible, pointing out it was Democrats’ attempts to restrict African Americans’ access to guns through gun control that’s actually racist.
Yes, throughout American history white, racist Democrats opposed free citizens’s right to bear arms because of skin color. (Also: Democrat Taney’s bigoted opinion re Dred Scott inadvertently reaffirmed 2A as an individual right — a right for all.) https://t.co/MmUXXiZLvx

Unfortunately, labeling anything that doesn’t fit their narrative as racist is part and parcel of the radical Left’s strategy to ban ideologies and principles that run counter to their goals.
Let’s hope everyday Americans can see through the Left’s misguided efforts to recreate America in their socialist vision.
