This Fox News host asked one question that made Donald Trump lose his mind
Donald Trump and Fox News have an uneasy relationship lately.
The President has pointed out unfair coverage on Fox and said his supporters would like an alternative.
And now this Fox News host asked one question that made Donald Trump lose his mind.
Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace drives conservatives crazy.
Wallace is an establishment-aligned journalist who always plays to the liberal critics of Fox News to win their praise.
Even on stories where it is clear Donald Trump and his administration were the victims of an attempted Deep State coup, Wallace still takes great pains to not appear on the President’s side.
That happened again after the bombshell release of documents showing the FBI interviewed then National Security Advisor Lt. General Michael Flynn with the intention of catching him in a lie so they could get him fired or prosecuted.
The notes also show the FBI concocted the flimsy criminal basis of a 33 year decorated military hero violating the 1799 Logan Act, which prevented private citizens from negotiating with a foreign government.
Wallace claimed he didn’t understand how anyone could sympathize with Flynn because he still pled guilty to lying to the FBI.
“And I was kind of surprised that the President said yesterday, ‘Well, maybe I’ll bring him back to the White House.’ It was the President, before any legal case was brought, who fired Flynn because Flynn had lied about his conversation with the Russian ambassador to the Vice President, Mike Pence. Mike Pence came on Fox News Sunday just before the inauguration in January of 2016 and said there was no discussion of that, and it turns out he was basing that on what Flynn had told him and that Flynn had lied to him,” Wallace began.
“So I’m not quite sure I understand why people are all rallying to Flynn’s case. Did the FBI play hardball? Yeah. Guess what? The FBI plays hardball. And guess what? If you are talking to the FBI, and a lot of lawyers would say don’t talk to them unless you have to, don’t lie,” Wallace added.
But Wallace missed two key points.
First, other documents revealed that Flynn negotiated a side deal with prosecutors that he would plead guilty in exchange for not going after his son.
Second, the documents also showed that the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn said Flynn thought he was truthful and wanted to wind down the case only they overruled.
The FBI’s persecution of Lt. General Michael Flynn was something out of a Soviet republic where the ruling communist party would use the state security services to jail their political opponents.
