This close ally shut down Joe Biden for one devastating gaffe about Russia
Joe Biden’s bungling in foreign policy is becoming dangerous.
Events in Ukraine are escalating and there are fears of nuclear war.
And this close ally shut down Joe Biden for one devastating gaffe about Russia.
During a speech in Poland, Joe Biden ventured off his prepared remarks and called for regime change in Russia.
“For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power,” Biden shouted.
Administration officials and foreign leaders around the world were aghast.
Biden calling for the overthrow of the Russian government could be seen as an act of war that could lead to Putin deploying his nuclear arsenal.
French President Emmanuel Macron chastised Biden for his rhetoric.
In addition to declaring support for regime change, Biden called Putin a “butcher,” a “thug,” and a “war criminal.”
Macron warned that Biden’s escalating rhetoric made it more difficult to end the war and bring about peace.
“I wouldn’t use this type of wording because I continue to hold discussions with President Putin,” Macron stated. “We want to stop the war that Russia has launched in Ukraine without escalation — that’s the objective. If this is what we want to do, we should not escalate things — neither with words nor actions.”
Everyone understood the gravity of Biden’s response.
The White House quickly walked back Biden’s regime change declaration.
“The President’s point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region,” an anonymous White House official explained. “He was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change.”
Russia’s response was far more understated than many feared.
“This is not to be decided by Mr. Biden,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded.
“It should only be a choice of the people of the Russian Federation,” Peskov added.
One of the disturbing aspects of this story is that Russia did not take the words of the President of the United States seriously.
Since it was not in the prepared remarks, it was easy to write off Biden’s regime change gaffe as the rantings of a 79-year-old man in cognitive decline.
That is a scary position for the United States to be in.
Americans fear Joe Biden bungling America into World War III with Russia by escalating tensions in Ukraine.
All it takes is one mistake and nuclear war is upon the globe.
Now even Joe Biden’s allies are warning him to cool it with his increasingly hostile rhetoric.
