The Supreme Court handed Nancy Pelosi another defeat that ruined one election plan
Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats have done everything they can to obstruct Trump’s agenda and defeat him in November.
But the Democrats’ unrelenting war on President Trump ran into a roadblock.
And the Supreme Court handed Nancy Pelosi another defeat that ruined one election plan.
When the Supreme Court handed down their decision about Congress and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office access to Donald Trump’s tax returns the outcome was essentially a win for the President.
The Supreme Court kicked the cases back to the lower court to consider separation of powers arguments, all but ensuring the Left would not be able to leak the President’s tax returns before the 2020 election.
But Democrats had one more trick up their sleeve and tried to push the Supreme Court to expedite their case.
That too ended in defeat.
The Daily Caller reports:
The Supreme Court denied a request by House Democrats Monday that sought to expedite the process of obtaining President Donald Trump’s financial documents.
Chief Justice John Roberts denied the motion, according to a court document. The Supreme Court ruled earlier in July that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.’s subpoena that demanded access to the president’s finances could proceed, contrary to Trump’s claims that he bore immunity against the order, according to The Washington Post.
The Democrats wanted Trump’s tax returns so they could fabricate a bunch of phony financial scandals by selectively leaking information to create the appearance that the President cheated on his taxes or committed some kind of fraud.
That scheme is now out the window.
While conservatives did not get much of anything in the current Supreme Court term, the President did win this victory that defanged one of the smear campaigns Democrats planned to run against him in the fall campaign.
