The results of this shocking new poll raised one big question about Donald Trump in 2024
Donald Trump wants to run for re-election in 2024.
But Trump got some bad news.
And the results of this shocking new poll raised one big question about Donald Trump in 2024.
Up until now, every 2024 poll of Republican voters showed Donald Trump over 50 percent and well ahead of any potential challengers.
That just changed.
A brand-new Yahoo News/YouGuv poll found Donald Trump leading Florida Governor Ron DeSantis 45 to 36 percent.
Yahoo/YouGuv’s previous polls showed Trump ahead of DeSantis by 23 and 16 points.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is within single digits of ex-President Donald Trump in a new national poll, the closest he’s been in this or any other reputable poll — and that’s before Tuesday’s bombshell testimony.
A sample of Republican and Republican-leaning respondents to a new Yahoo! News/YouGov poll were asked “Who would you rather see as the Republican nominee for President in 2024?” and given a choice between Trump and DeSantis.
Among registered voters, 45 percent prefer Trump, while 36 percent prefer DeSantis — a nine-point difference that normally wouldn’t seem very close.
There is no doubt many Republican voters still support President Trump.
President Trump nominated the three Supreme Court Justices – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett – who cast the deciding votes that handed conservatives the long-sought after goal of overturning Roe v. Wade.
But there is also no question that Governor DeSantis’ star is on the rise.
In late April of 2020, Governor DeSantis assumed the leadership role in the GOP by pushing back against Dr. Fauci’s failed lockdown and mask mandate regime.
Joe Biden then tried to elevate Ron DeSantis to be the face of the opposition to vaccine passports and mask mandates in schools.
That scheme backfired, as the public grew tired of Joe Biden’s biomedical security state and forever pandemic.
Ron DeSantis’ star grew even brighter when Disney tried to tank legislation that protected children from woke activists in schools trying to groom them into the transgender lifestyle.
DeSantis successfully fought back by signing legislation to strip Disney of its special privileges and tax breaks.
The Fake News Media also spent the last year launching one false smear campaign after another against DeSantis.
In the last two years, Ron DeSantis picked all the right fights, made all the right enemies, and won every battle.
That’s why it is not a surprise to see his poll numbers rise.
