The harpies on “The View” could not believe what they heard about Kamala Harris’ flip-flopping
Pennsylvania is the most important Presidential swing state on the map.
Most pundits were shocked when Kamala Harris selected Tim Walz as her running mate over Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.
But the harpies on The View could not believe what they heard about Kamala Harris flip-flopping.
Kamala Harris facing scrutiny over Tim Walz pick
Before she made her selection, Vice President Kamala Harris had narrowed her list down to two names: Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Of course, most pundits viewed Shapiro as an easy choice for her.
Not only is he the Governor of the top swing state, but Shapiro is also wildly popular with voters.
He takes a left-wing position on the issues, but he portrays himself as a moderate Democrat when speaking to voters.
That’s why he has an average approval rating of over 60% in Pennsylvania.
However, Shapiro is Jewish and supports Israel’s war in Gaza.
And since Kamala could not risk upsetting her left-wing base by selecting a Jew, she went with Walz as her running mate.
But Shapiro isn’t bitter towards her for passing him up as a running mate.
He’s campaigning for Kamala and doing everything he can to help her win the key swing state of Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania Governor shocks The View hosts
Shapiro appeared as a guest on ABC’s The View where he discussed the Presidential race with the co-hosts.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin brought up the fact that Kamala Harris has changed her positions on so many issues that Republicans are attacking her as a flip-flopper.
“Kamala Harris is running a very different campaign than she did when she ran in the 2020 cycle,” Griffin said. “She’s moving to the center on a number of issues, she’s walked back previously held positions like calling for banning fracking.”
Griffin asked Shapiro if “it’s a strategic mistake that she hasn’t explained some of these positions she’s changed on more ahead of the debate, because she’s obviously going to get challenged on some of these on a debate stage?”
But Shapiro doesn’t see Kamala’s flip-flops as a negative.
Instead, he views it as a “sign of strength.”
“Well, first, look, I think it’s a sign of strength when you evolve on a position,” Shapiro said.
One of the biggest flip-flops from Kamala is on the issue of fracking.
The energy industry is one of the backbones of Pennsylvania’s economy and provides tens of thousands of jobs in the state.
“Overall, the fossil fuel industry in Pennsylvania supports about 50,547 jobs,” Fox News reported.
During a CNN town hall on climate change in 2019, Kamala enthusiastically declared her support for a federal ban on fracking, which would end jobs and crush the economy in Pennsylvania.
“There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking,” Kamala said. “Starting with what we can do on day one around public lands and then there has to be legislation, but yes. This is something I’ve taken on in California – I have a history of working on this issue.”
But now she says she doesn’t support a ban on fracking.
“Clearly, Kamala Harris has been listening to the good people of Pennsylvania when it comes to natural gas, when it comes to energy and the fact that we’re producing more energy in this nation today than ever before, which strengthens our national security, strengthens our economy and Pennsylvania is a huge part of that,” Shapiro claimed.
Shapiro is running damage control for Kamala on the top issue in the most important swing state.
He knows her calls for a fracking ban will not sit well with voters in the state.
And he’s trying to convince voters to believe that switching positions on issues is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.
