The FBI was caught red handed rigging the Russia investigation
The FBI’s conduct in the 2016 election has raised the ire of President Trump and his supporters.
Led by Former Director James Comey, the Bureau launch sophisticated covert spying operations against the Trump campaign.
The news got worse for the FBI when they were caught red handed rigging the Russia investigation.
The FBI obtaining a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page was one of the biggest abuses of power in the entire investigation.
FBI agents used the fake news Christopher Steele dossier as the basis for convincing a judge that Page was an agent of the Russian government.
But not only did the FBI use an unverified dossier as their evidence to obtain the warrant, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes claimed the FBI withheld exculpatory evidence from the judge.
The Daily Caller reports:
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes claimed Monday that the FBI and Justice Department failed to include exculpatory evidence in surveillance warrant applications against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
“There is exculpatory evidence that we have seen, of classified documents that need to be declassified,” Nunes said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
“Exculpatory in nature in what way? Exculpatory in what way?” Hannity asked.
“In that the Carter Page FISA when the judges should have been presented with this exculpatory evidence that the FBI and DOJ had,” Nunes replied.
The warrant against Page allowed the FBI to spy on the Trump campaign even though the FBI obtained the warrant after Page left the Trump team.
That’s because it allowed them access to communications from when Page was a member of the campaign.
The circumstances under which the FISA warrant was obtained and the motivations behind the FBI’s decision to spy on Page stink to high heaven.
