Ted Cruz told Sean Hannity the one thing the FBI is hiding about January 6
The FBI’s role in the January 6 riot at the Capitol is now the subject of much debate.
Joe Biden and the Democrats are avoiding questions about what happened.
And Ted Cruz told Sean Hannity the one thing the FBI is hiding about January 6.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Texas Senator Ted Cruz asked the FBI’s Executive Assistant Director for the National Security Branch, Jill Sanborn, if the FBI had any informants in the crowd on January 6 and if they committed any violent acts.
Cruz focused his questioning on a man named Ray Epps, who was seen in multiple videos on January 5 and January 6 encouraging Trump supporters to storm the Capitol.
“Who is Ray Epps? There are a lot of people who are understandably very concerned about Mr. Epps. On the night of January 5th, 2021, Epps wandered around the crowd that had gathered and there is video out there of him chanting ‘tomorrow, we need to get into the Capitol.’ This behavior was so strange the crowd began chanting, ‘Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed, Fed.’ Ms. Sanborn, was Ray Epps a Fed?” Cruz asked Sanborn.
But Sandorn only responded with, “I can’t answer that,” giving the impression that the FBI did have something to hide from the American people about Ray Epps.
Later that night, during an interview with Sean Hannity, Senator Cruz said the lack of transparency from the Biden administration and the FBI about what happened on January 6 disturbed him.
“Unfortunately, under Joe Biden we have seen an incredibly partisan Department of Justice,” Cruz told Hannity. “And both the Department of Justice and the FBI have an arrogance that they are not accountable to anyone, they can stonewall, so it should be very easy for the FBI to say, ‘No, no federal agents participated in violent crimes.’”
Cruz explained that he asked simple “yes” or “no” questions that should have been easy for Sanborn to answer.
Senator Cruz also noted that at one point Ray Epps appeared on the FBI’s most-wanted list before vanishing with no explanation.
“I asked the FBI, is Mr. Epps an agent of the FBI, is he an informant of the FBI and she stonewalled, refused to answer,” Cruz added. “We know the FBI put him out on the list they wanted information about and then magically he disappeared.”
“There needs to be transparency, and the Biden administration needs to fess up,” Cruz concluded.
