Portland’s Mayor is in hot water after making a major move proving he won’t stop riots
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler continues to prove he is not fit to serve his city.
For three months straight, violence has erupted. Not only has he refused to stop it, but he actually joined in with the “peaceful protesters.”
But his recent announcement proved that all backfired in the worst way possible for Ted Wheeler.
Violent riots are nothing new to Portland.
Since the election of President Donald Trump, they have been a regular fixture in the city.
Masked Antifa extremists have caused destruction whenever any pro-Trump group chose to hold a demonstration in the city.
But previously, that violence was spread apart, with it only occurring sporadically in response to pro-Trump demonstrations.
That all changed following the death of George Floyd.
Every night since then, chaos and riots have broken out.
A Federal Courthouse was attacked and businesses were shuttered due to the violence.
The regular people of Portland are now moving in droves as Mayor Ted Wheeler continues to do nothing.
Despite his police not being able to adequately stop the violence, he has actively resisted any efforts from President Donald Trump to send in federal troops.
Wheeler has essentially been siding with violent rioters.
But now Wheeler has been forced into a corner.
During a recent wave of violence, a Trump supporter was killed by a Black Lives Matter extremist in the streets of his city.
He is now stating that he will take harsher action, despite not yet taking those steps.
But just him stating that has made him a target of the mob.
Wheeler’s condo in Portland has been under attack, with rioters launching fireworks alongside the building, and locking themselves in the lobby.
This should be a moment of clarity for Wheeler, where he finally takes some action.
But instead, he announced he is moving away due to the attacks on his condo, which houses dozens of other units.
“I want to express my sincere apologies for the damage to our home and the fear that you are experiencing due to my position,” Wheeler said in an email to residents of the building, according to Oregon Live. “It’s unfair to all of you who have no role in politics or in my administration.”
He reportedly told his neighbors that it would be “best for me and for everyone else’s safety and peace” if he moved away.
Ted Wheeler moving out shows just how weak he is.
Instead of fighting to protect the residents of his city, who may not have the luxury to get up and move, he is running away from the mob.
