The Washington, D.C. Swamp wanted to destroy Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth from the moment President Trump nominated him to run the Pentagon.

Hit pieces are flying in every direction.

And Pete Hegseth got one phone call from Donald Trump that changed everything.

Media resurrects the Signalgate hoax

The Atlantic tried to destroy Pete Hegseth with the story that he shared classified information about military strike on Houthi rebels in a Signal app group chat where National Security Advisor Michael Waltz accidentally added anti-Trump reporter Jeffrey Goldberg.

But this story fizzled out as Goldberg oversold the idea Hegseth sent him secret war plans and the administration stood by Trump.

The New York Times took a second crack at Singalgate reporting that Hegseth shared details about the attack with a group chat that included his wife as well as his brother and lawyer – both of whom are Pentagon employees.

National Public Radio then threw gasoline on the fire with a report sourced to one anonymous individual claiming President Trump started the new process of identifying Hegseth’s replacement as Secretary of Defense.

“The White House has begun the process of looking for a new leader at the Pentagon to replace Pete Hegseth, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly. This comes as Hegseth is again mired in controversy over sharing military operational details in a group chat,” National Public Radio reported.

Speaking to reporters at the White House Easter Egg Roll, Hegseth slammed the leftist media for relying on anonymous sources to generate fake news hoaxes.

“This is what the media does, they take anonymous sources from disgruntled former employees, and then they try to slash and burn people, ruin their reputation. It’s not going to work with me,” Hegseth declared.

If there was any doubt Hegseth was in trouble, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed the door shut saying President Trump was firmly in Hegseth’s camp.

“This @NPR story is total FAKE NEWS based on one anonymous source who clearly has no idea what they are talking about.” Leavitt wrote on social media. “As the President said this morning, he stands strongly behind @SecDef.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump spoke to Hegseth by phone and assured him he still had confidence in him as Secretary of Defense.

“Trump and Hegseth chatted on the phone Sunday after news reports detailed how Hegseth used his personal phone to place sensitive military information into a new Signal chat, and the publication of an essay by a former Pentagon spokesman detailing the “total chaos” of the secretary’s leadership. The conversation was positive, officials said, noting that Trump sees no reason to remove Hegseth after only three months in the job,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

Trump reiterated that support publicly when he spoke to reporters.

“He’s doing a great job — ask the Houthis how he’s doing,” Trump declared.

Secretary of Defense Hegseth opposed war with Iran leading President Trump to waive off a planned Israeli military strike in favor of negotiations to try and eliminate Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

The Washington, D.C. Swamp wants war with Iran.

And the Swamp is trying to take out anyone who stands in the way of another endless war in the Middle East.
