One top aide just stabbed Trump in the back with this admission about the 2020 election
Donald Trump could not believe it.
One of his closest advisors is out with a new book.
And one top aide just stabbed Trump in the back with this admission about the 2020 election.
Former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows is out with a new book The Chief’s Chief.
Meadows claims Trump tested positive for coronavirus three days before the first presidential debate with Joe Biden.
There was no way Trump was going to miss the debate and Trump’s aides worried that the older version of the coronavirus test Trump produced was a false positive.
Meadows added that Trump took a newer version of the test and it came back negative so Trump proceeded to attend the debate.
The Guardian reports:
Meadows writes of his surprise that such a “massive germaphobe” could have contracted Covid, given precautions including “buckets of hand sanitiser” and “hardly [seeing] anyone who ha[d]n’t been rigorously tested.”
Meadows says the positive test had been done with an old model kit. He told Trump the test would be repeated with “the Binax system, and that we were hoping the first test was a false positive.”
After “a brief but tense wait,” Meadows called back with news of the negative test. He could “almost hear the collective ‘Thank God’ that echoed through the cabin,” he writes.
Meadows says Trump took that call as “full permission to press on as if nothing had happened.” His chief of staff, however, “instructed everyone in his immediate circle to treat him as if he was positive” throughout the Pennsylvania trip.
The media ran wild with the claim that Trump supposedly “lied” during the campaign about his coronavirus status and Trump released a statement that called any claims he tested positive fake news.

Trump later told the public he tested positive for the coronavirus for real three days after the debate on October 2.
Meadows said they told the public within an hour of that test coming back confirmed as positive.
But Trump was clearly not happy with Meadows writing this book and creating new grist for CNN and the rest of the corporate media to create a new fake scandal to attack Trump over.
