Joe Biden wants to shred the Constitution and wreck Americans’ freedoms.

Democrats in 2023 support government censorship of so-called “hate speech” and “misinformation.”

But thanks to the First Amendment and a conservative majority on the Supreme Court, the Biden administration cannot censor conservative speech online or mandate Big Tech ban political opponents from social media.

Democrats would also like to ban and confiscate every firearm in America.

However, the Supreme Court’s decisions in the Heller and Bruen cases as well as a plain reading of the text of the Second Amendment – “the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” – Democrats cannot order the FBI to go door to door and seize firearms.

But one foolish Republican just introduced legislation to put the First and Second Amendment on the chopping block.

House Budget Committee Chairman Jody Arrington of Texas introduced a resolution mandating Congress call an Article V Convention of the States to amend the U.S. Constitution.

“After a short time in Washington, it is abundantly clear that Congress completely lacks the political will to control our finances, which is why I introduced legislation to force Congress to rein in spending and restore fiscal sanity to our nation’s capital,” Arrington declared. “I hope my colleagues will join me in encouraging states to exercise their Constitutional right to put a check on the unbridled spending of the federal government.”

Many well-meaning conservatives support an Article V Convention of the States believing this is the only way to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment or other meaningful reforms.

However a Constitutional Convention would open up Pandora’s box and conservatives may not like the outcome.

Congress can call an Article V Convention of the States, but there is no limit on what amendments make it onto the agenda or limits on who will show up.

The summer of 2020 showed Democrats have an endless supply of foot soldiers to deploy on a moment’s notice.

Democrats would stack a Constitutional Convention with Antifa and Black Lives Matter activists with the goal of amending the Constitution to roll back freedom of speech and the right to keep and bear arms.

Conservatives think an Article V Convention of the States will roll back big government.

In reality, it could open the door for Joe Biden to impose censorship and confiscate firearms nationwide.
