One big name at CNN may get fired for this ugly sex scandal
The fallout over the latest crisis at CNN continues to grow.
It’s already claimed one scalp.
And now one big name at CNN may get fired for this ugly sex scandal.
CNN President Jeff Zucker resigned after he admitted he failed to disclose a nearly 20-year affair with Allison Gollust, who he worked with at various stops along his career.
When Zucker announced his resignation over the affair, CNN’s on-air talent – including so-called media reporter Brian Stelter – claimed they had no idea their boss carried on an affair with a subordinate right under their noses.
Of course, few believed this.
However, if it is true, sources at CNN said Stelter should lose his job for failing to report the biggest scoop in the media.
“The network needs to step up and fire Brian Stelter,” a source at CNN told the Daily Mail. “He is allegedly our top media reporter – yet he failed to report on the scoop that everyone in the office knew. And if he wants to say he didn’t know, he is truly terrible at his job.”
Another source blasted Stelter for being nothing more than a low-rated puppet for Zucker, saying it was impossible that he did not know about the affair with Gollust.
“Brian Stelter should be calling his agent to start looking for another job. He’s been Jeff Zucker’s water boy for years and no one believes he didn’t know about all of this,” the source told the Daily Mail.
The source added that even though Stelter regularly lectures Fox News about its reporting, he failed to perform even the most basic journalism on his employer.
“He’s been sitting on his moral high horse doing Jeff’s bidding and ripping Fox and every other media outlet that Jeff tells him to while his ratings crash and burn. Where was he on the biggest story at his own network after chastising everyone else?” the Daily Mail reported.
The relationship between Zucker and Gollust was an open secret, as Zucker made sure she accompanied him at every stop on his career path.
“Jeff took Allison to every job he had. After they left NBC, he tried to get her on Katie Couric’s show which failed, then he placed her at his friend Governor Cuomo’s office, then took her to CNN as soon as he was he got that job all while failing upward along the way,” the Daily Mail reported.
After this news broke, Keith Olbermann posted on social media that he figured out Zucker and Gollust were having an affair over 15 years ago.
While most observers will place the leak that ended Jeff Zucker's career, at the feet of a vengeful Andrew Cuomo, the weird part is: anybody who knew Zucker knew about Allison Gollust. I first figured it out in 2006 or 2007. https://t.co/q8kGfK1vZh

Regardless of whether Stelter is either lying or just plain naïve, he failed to perform basic journalism on his employer.
And that is leading critics to call for his job.
