The NFL is putting anthem protesters over fans with this rule change

For two seasons the NFL has struggled over a fairly simple question of what to do with the disrespectful anthem protesters.

Goodell could’ve nipped it in the bud by fining or suspending Colin Kaepernick, and it may never have become a story outside of the sports pages.

But now rumors are the league is poised to “solve” the problem in the worst way possible.

It’s hard to believe the NFL could devise a solution that’s almost worse than the problem of players disrespecting the flag, the military, and our national anthem week-in, and week-out.

But here’s the latest.

According to ESPN’s Jim Trotter, the NFL may consider a rule change that requires players to stay in the locker room during the national anthem.

This just goes to show that the NFL would rather turn away fans than cross the anthem protesters

When the idea was first floated in the fall of 2017, Trump sounded off on Twitter saying, “That’s almost as bad as kneeling!”

Sadly, the disrespect shown by these athletes emboldening radical anti-American activists.

In Baltimore, The Star-Spangled Banner Centennial Monument, which commemorates the Battle of Baltimore and the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner, was vandalized with red paint and the words “racist anthem” were spray painted on the sidewalk.

What are your thoughts on the NFL’s potential “solution” to its anthem problem?

Do you think the disrespect shown by professional athletes is spreading, causing vandals to deface monuments related to the anthem?

Just give up the NFL and you will learn to live without it. If your doctor tells you to give up your lifelong favorite foods or you will die, you will give them up and it wont hurt a bit. You will save money in the long run , and the players will probably get smaller paychecks.

WE CAN solve the problem about the protesters QUIT watching football as I have done. I loved playing it for over six years and watching every chance I could, up till the last half of last year and all of this years season. I love my country more than I love football

It looks like they are going to solve the problem permanently when they stop making money and all these players end up without a job and deprive the people they are supposedly “supporting” with fewer opportunities. Good Job!

Either PC-ness or the player’s contract will prevent an owner from firing an offending player. But the owner can stop that player from playing, at the cost of continuing to pay him while he warms the bench each time he disrespects our flag or national anthem. And the owner can insist on an appropriate contractual clause that would allow firing for these types of offenses in each new contract. This is not a First Amendment or any other constitutional issue. The Amendment applies to governmental interference with an individual’s right to free speech (or anything constituting ‘speech,’ such as flag-burning, etc). The player would not be prevented from free speech by the government, where the owner of a private enterprise limits his speech.

Very soon each player or prospective player would learn that he will have no job with a team that doesn’t allow his unpatriotic behavior. The requirement to remain contractually bound to pay an offending player whose contract doesn’t contain the “magic words” seems a small price to ultimately end the offending behavior and save the franchise and the game.

Perhaps a suitable response would be to export these spoiled ingrates to North Korea and let them dis Kim Jong-un’s flag and see how they like the response. They certainly don’t belong in the U.S.

We are being disrespected by thugs. We no longer care about nfl. They are not men. I never cared much for football but I thought the players were red blooded American patriots who would always defend us and our country. NOT TRUE. We are done with the low life’s who don’t us. Yes, us! Our veterans, our people, our country means more to us then a few men playing with a ball. If we miss the game…..our own sexy men can play in the yard and get exercise and a tan!
