New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said something about Trump and the coronavirus that no one saw coming
Donald Trump is calling for a “whole of America” approach to putting a stop to the Chinese coronavirus outbreak.
Many Democrats are refusing to get on board and instead want to lob potshots at the Trump administration to score political points in an election season.
And now New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said something about Trump and the coronavirus that no one saw coming.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is one of the most partisan and radical left-wing governors in the country.
Cuomo is managing the response in New York State, which is the biggest hotspot of Chinese coronavirus outbreak in the country.
But while President Trump and Cuomo fought on Twitter over the federal government’s response to the Chinese coronavirus outbreak they are now both on the same page.
And at a press conference on Tuesday Governor Cuomo praised the Trump administration’s for their assistance in helping New York contain the outbreak.
Cuomo told the press:
I said to the president, who is a New Yorker, who I’ve known for many, many years, I put my hand out in partnership. ‘I want to work together, 100 percent. I need your help. I want your help. And New Yorkers will do everything they can to be good partners with the federal government…
…His team has been on it. I know a team when they’re on it, and I know a team when they’re not on it. His team is on it, they’ve been responsive, late at night, early in the morning, and they’ve thus far been doing everything that they can do, and I want to say thank you, and I want to say that I appreciate it. They will have nothing but cooperation and partnership from the state of New York.
Cuomo’s words will be used to defang the Democrats’ expected attacks on the President in the coming months and weeks over the federal response to this crisis.
The President has said now is not the time for partisan politics and – for now ¬– Governor Cuomo is one Democrat taking that message to heart.
