Nancy Pelosi’s career could be over after this speech

Nancy Pelosi’s future as leader of the Democrats in Congress is up in the air.

Dozens of Democrat candidates across American are campaigning on opposing her as Speaker of the House.

Now Pelosi realizes her career may be over after his speech.

Jim Clyburn, a black Congressman from South Carolina and third ranking Democrat in the House announced he is willing to replace Pelosi as Speaker.

Breitbart reports:

Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), the third-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, says he is ready to succeed House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as Speaker of the House if their party wins a House majority in November.

Appearing before the Congressional Black Caucus Institute’s policy conference in Tunica, Mississippi, on August 10, Clyburn, 78, spoke of a possible bid to replace Pelosi, 78, who occupies the Democrat Party’s top spot in the House. “I’m very much up for it,” Clyburn, who would become the first African-American Speaker in American history if successful, told McClatchy DC on the sidelines of the annual forum. “Trump asked the question about himself, ‘What do I have to lose?’” the lawmaker asked.

Clyburn claims he will not challenge Pelosi for the leadership post and would only assume the role if the embattled California lawmaker failed to secure the support needed to regain the gavel. However, if the Republicans hold on to their majority, “all of us have got to go,” Clyburn said of Democrats in an interview with Politico following his annual “Jim Clyburn’s World Famous Fish Fry” in Columbia.

The longtime lawmaker wants to revamp the Democrat Party, an aspiration that suggests he believes Pelosi has fallen short of her leadership duties in maintaining the status quo. “I think our party needs to be transformed and that’s what I’m talking about,” said Clyburn.

Experts believe there is a path for Clyburn to replace Pelosi.

If the Congressional Black Caucus denies Pelosi their support a head of a vote, she could read the writing on the wall and retire.

That would open the door for Clyburn to replace her.

Well, maybe. The “devil you know” theory comes into play here. Pelosi is a total loon, but whoever might replace her could be (“could”) more effective. Consider the insane constituency we are talking about – i.e., San Francisco, my home town. That once “can do” city is run by Neanderthals now and the entire Bay Area is sick sick blue. It ain’t pretty. These morons, my brethren, think that hurting a TG’s feelings, even in the slightest, is way more important than NorKor missiles not flying over Japan. These folks have absurd priorities that serve the naive, to be blunt about it. They are, basically, hopeless and beyond reason. So, maybe Pelosi is the least precarious option extant for her congressional slot? Do we really want a bunch of self-adoring, I wanna feel good about myself imbeciles vote in a replacement? I wonder. Maybe not.

Yeah, lets just completely forget all of what Martin Luther King Jr. said in his I Have A Dream speech! Lets judge people by the color of their skin instead of the content of their character!!!

    • jjammin says:

What the DNC need to do is refer back to the days of MLK Jr. and draw on his great speeches to bring America together for a great cause . . . UNITY!!! The only problem here is that it resembles an act of conservatism and no DNC member would dare attempt ever being associated with anything that ever looks like conservative thought! To bad . . . so sad . . . when this little act would bring them so much into the main-stream of thought of the majority of America!!!

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi admitted that the Democratic Party’s support of abortion has not been a winning issue.

Pelosi spoke to the Washington Post about whether her party should support pro-life candidates or require that candidates support easy access to taxpayer-funded abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.

Struggling after heavy election losses, many in the Democratic Party are debating whether to support pro-life candidates, especially in rural areas where voters tend to be more pro-life. Some, like Pelosi, appear to be recognizing that the party’s support of abortion-on-demand-up-to-birth is losing them voters.

Pelosi blamed Hillary Clinton’s loss on pro-life voters. Clinton supported the unpopular platform of forcing taxpayers to directly fund abortions, and she promised to nominate Supreme Court justices who would uphold Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand up until birth, if elected.

Pelosi, who supports the platform but describes herself as a Catholic, said many in her Catholic family are pro-life. She also mentioned U.S. Sen. Bob Casey from Pennsylvania, a Democrat who sometimes votes pro-life.

“You think I’m kicking them out of the Democratic Party?” Pelosi said.

Abortion is a secular human rights issue, but there ARE valid reasons for liberals to be lukewarm about criminalizing abortion (privacy and civil liberties concerns; the debate over the personhood of the unborn; the endless debates over when it is acceptable for humans to kill other humans; even many opposed to abortion say criminalization won’t work or they don’t want to impose their religious beliefs upon others, etc.)…

The arguments about “choice” and/or “a woman’s right to choose” don’t go anywhere, either, as recognizing the rights of another class of beings limits our freedoms and our choices, and requires a change in our personal lifestyle.

    Pro-life feminist Juli Loesch wrote:

“Each woman has the right (to contraception)… But once a woman has conceived, she can no longer choose whether or not to become a mother. Biologically, she is already a mother… the woman’s rights are then limited, as every right is limited, by the existence of another human being who also has rights.”

Recognizing the rights of another class of beings limits our freedoms and our choices and requires a change in our lifestyle — the abolition of (human) slavery is a good example of this.

Are whites free to own slaves or lynch blacks?

No! Because of the civil rights movement, we’ve corrected that injustice.

    Is domestic violence tolerated?

No! Because of the women’s movement, domestic violence is unacceptable.

Should hate crimes against LGBTs be permitted under the guise of “choice”?

    No! LGBTs have rights.

This isn’t rocket science, but if animals have rights, then our freedoms and choices to commit crimes against animals are similarly limited.

“Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment,” insists People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

As the animal rights movement continues to influence mainstream society, humankind is finally ending millennia of injustices against animals.

The abortion debate focuses on the personhood or moral status of the unborn…

…which is weakened when species membership is no longer the deciding factor — if it ever was!

When this country was founded, blacks were three-fifths of a person, women were the property of their husbands, Native Americans were killed for “sport,” etc.

Historically, personhood never encompassed the entire human species.

(And even now, humans hold widely differing views on when it is acceptable to kill other humans — consider the endless debates over abortion, capital punishment, euthanasia, war, etc.)

Why, then, should personhood end with the human species?

Apart from personhood, the abortion debate focuses on the extent of individual and/or marital privacy.

Can we protect human zygotes and embryos without violating a new mother’s privacy and civil liberties?

(When I was younger, I contributed $1,008 to the ACLU Foundation, not because I’ve suddenly become a huge fan of partial-birth abortions, but because having lived unwillingly under electronic surveillance, like a political prisoner, with persons around me wired for sound, and my past probed to a degree no real life political or religious figure has had to endure, it’s my conviction we have a right to privacy.)

I think rape is a fairly accurate word to describe an electronic invasion of privacy (e.g., Erin Andrews), whether it happens in the bedroom and/or bathroom, whether it happens to a minor or an adult, and whether the victim happens to be female or male.

“The moral test of government is how it treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the aged; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.”

    –Hubert H. Humphrey

Fifty-nine percent of Democrats favored a ban on partial-birth abortion. (Gallup Poll, November 1, 2000)

Eighty-nine percent of Americans favored informed consent for women seeking abortions. (Gallup Poll, 2002)

Sixty-seven percent of Democrats would outlaw some or all abortions. (Gallup Poll, May 5-7, 2003)

Forty-three percent of Democrats agreed with the statement that abortion”destroys a human life and is manslaughter.” (Zogby Poll, December 2004)

Seventy percent of high school senior females say they would not consider abortion if they became pregnant while in high school. (Hamilton College/Zogby Poll, January 2008)

Seventy-seven percent of Americans believe abortion should have stricter limitations. (CBS News Poll, January 2008)

During the 2008 campaign, Reverend Jim Wallis (of Sojourners) advised Barack Obama to support a plank in the Democratic Party Platform that would aim to reduce abortions by focusing on supporting low income women and making adoption easier. (This is the 95-10 Initiative, advanced by pro-life Democrats in Congress.) Reverend Tony Campolo served on the Platform Committee and has issued a strong statement in support of a pro-life position.

Kristen Day of Democrats For Life said, “Roughly a third of the Democratic Party is pro-life. And while many do not call themselves liberal, they share the values which seem to identify with liberalism, particularly a commitment to helping the vulnerable and providing a social safety net.”

The Democratic Party platform should support: Animal Rights, Defending the Affordable Care Act, Ending Citizens United, Ending Marijuana Prohibition, Giving Greater Visibility to Pro-Life Democrats, Gun Control, Net Neutrality, Raising the Minimum Wage to $15 an Hour, Responding to the Scientific Consensus on Global Warming, and a Sustainable Energy Policy.

If Clyburn is another leftist in the mold of Warren, Clinton, Obama, et al there will be no revamping of the Democratic Party. The course will be stayed even if he succeeds in ousting Pelosi.

  17. Judy Stinger says:

Pelosi’s politucal career was over 30 years ago. The only reason she ever became speaker of the house is that she had big cash donors from San Francisco to the Democratic Party. She is and has been dangerous and lethal to the United States and the American people. She is also, however, the best thing that could ever happened to Republican Party. Before she retires with the Cadillac medical and retirement plans that she made sure she and her fellow Democrats would have the lowest have to be changed where they only get Social Security and have to be covered under the affordable care act. She became a millionaire on the backs of the American taxpayers and enough is enough.

In my opinion, Pelosi is nothing but a liberal jerk that should be voted out of office and return to California and sit on her front porch and join all the other liberal jerks in their bankrupt state. The sooner she is gone the better off the country will be. Good bye Pelosi.

  22. Al says:

Who in their right mind would want to see her retire. She is the greatest thing that has ever happened to the Republican party. With the stupid things that come out of her mouth and just to look her tells the story of her being a major selling point to continue to vote for republicans…

  23. NavyVet67 says:

Two comments….Pelosi’s time has come and gone…her mind is shot but I like having her around for she’s helping to destroy the Democratic party with her antics, might as well throw Watters into the mix as well. Secondly, Clyburn is 78 years old…..retire pal…it’s a whole new world and you’re not part of it…all of the old guard has to go…both sides of the aisle

  24. Wills says:

Replacing one old fart with another old fart? When will the democrats wake up and attempt to get some young blood? And I’m not talking about Ocasio-Cortez either.
