Nancy Pelosi was petrified of the memo just prepared by one top Democrat
Democrats control of government is up for grabs next November.
The margins are razor thin.
And Nancy Pelosi was petrified of the memo just prepared by one top Democrat.
Presidential approval ratings are usually the leading indicator of how a party will perform in the midterm elections.
Right now the situation is not good for Nancy Pelosi.
Joe Biden’s approval rating is at 46 percent, which ties Biden with former President Gerald Ford for second lowest in modern polling for any President at this point in their presidency.
The 1974 midterms were a historic wipeout for Republicans following Richard Nixon resigning due to the Watergate scandal and Gerald Ford subsequently pardoning Nixon.
Former Bill Clinton pollster Doug Schoen warned Democrats in a memo that Joe Biden’s declining poll numbers do not position Democrats well heading into 2022.
“The marked decline in support for President Joe Biden and his administration nationally and in key swing states indicates that the Democratic Party could endure a blowout defeat in the 2022 midterm elections,” Schoen stated.
Schoen warned Democrats could suffer a red wave greater than 1994 or 2010 – the biggest GOP midterm routes in history – because Joe Biden’s approval numbers are lower than Barack Obama and Bill Clinton’s were at this point in their presidency.
“Moreover, Biden is in a significantly weaker position now than both of his most recent Democratic predecessors — Bill Clinton and Barack Obama — at this point in their presidencies, which suggests that Democrats could suffer even more substantial losses in 2022 than the party did in 1994 and 2010,” Schoen added.
Joe Biden’s communications plan of “orange man bad” turns out not to be enough.
Biden and the Democrats thought they could coast through the next four years complaining about Donald Trump.
But Americans are now judging Joe Biden based on his record.
And one former Clinton campaign pollster says that is taking the Democrats to a dangerous place.
