Nancy Pelosi just suffered an embarrassing defeat that spells doom for Democrats in 2020
Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats made a major miscalculation on impeachment.
The extent of their mistake is only now being understood.
And Nancy Pelosi just suffered an embarrassing defeat that spells doom for Democrats in 2020.
The Democrats blundered into an impeachment inquiry thinking it would pay dividends in the 2020 election.
Either Congress would remove Donald Trump and tear the Republican Party in two, or Trump would find himself so tainted by scandal the American people would vote him out of office.
But instead it’s the Democrats bearing the brunt of the political fallout.
Impeachment is so toxic, New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew – who represents a district Trump carried by five points in 2016 – announced he was leaving the Democrat Party and becoming a Republican.
The Daily Wire reports:
New Jersey Democratic Congressman Jeff Van Drew, who has strongly opposed the Democrats’ impeachment efforts, is leaving the Democratic Party and becoming a member of the Republican Party after meeting with President Donald Trump.
“Van Drew’s congressional and campaign staff were informed he was planning to switch parties on Saturday, according to Democratic sources,” Politico reported. “The question was now when, not if, Van Drew was joining the Republican Party, according to several Democrats with knowledge of the ongoing conversations.”
Van Drew reportedly met “at length” with Trump on Friday and his decision to switch parties is supposed to be officially announced in the near future, a top GOP source told Politico.
Impeachment has very real consequences for the Democrats.
It’s already cutting into the Democrat House majority.
And in 2020, it could wipe it out entirely.
