Nancy Pelosi is about to lose the impeachment fight thanks to this one big surprise
There is little doubt the House Democrats will pass articles of impeachment against Donald Trump.
The real action will be in the Senate for a trial on whether or not to convict the President.
And Nancy Pelosi just got some really bad news that she is about to lose the impeachment fight thanks to this one big surprise.
The Senate requires a two-thirds vote to convict on articles of impeachment and remove the President from office.
Democrats assume that means 20 Republicans must defect in order to remove President Trump from office.
But someone just threw a monkey wrench into those plans.
Since Senators are the jury pool, Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie pointed out that every Democrat running for President — and there are currently five of them — should recuse themselves for an obvious conflict of interest.
Don’t senators running for POTUS have a conflict of interest regarding possible impeachment of an opponent?
Shouldn’t they recuse themselves if it came to the Senate?
Wouldn’t anyone so positioned against a defendant be barred from serving as a judge or jury in a court of law?

If the Democrat Senators running for President recuse themselves it means 25 Republicans need to vote to convict.
And Kamala Harris, Michael Bennett, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders all have a clear and obvious conflict of interest in that outcome.
