There is a caravan of illegal immigrants, reportedly 7,000 strong, marching to the U.S. border.

Their full intention is to cross the border illegally to confront President Trump and challenge border security.

This is nothing short of an invasion and is a fully-fledged threat to our national security.

And Nancy Pelosi has instructed Democrats to remain silent and cover up the story.

Democratic leaders are urging their party’s 2018 candidates to ignore migration issues even as the fast-growing caravan of migrants walks northwards through Mexico.

On Sunday, media reports said the caravan has grown to 7,000 people — up from 3,000 last week — and more people are seeking to join the migration.

On Saturday, the Democratic leaders declared “The president is desperate to change the subject from health care to immigration because he knows that health care is the number one issue Americans care about.” The statement from Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer urged Democratic candidates to ignore public worries about the migration.

The Democratic leaders’ advice is likely to be embraced by Democrats and progressives, partly because health care is a top issue for Democratic partisans. But migration and economics are top issues for GOP-leaning voters.

Pelosi knows immigration is a losing issue for Democrats.

After all, when Donald Trump came down the escalator to announce his candidacy his core issue was a promise to build the wall.

So Pelosi has silenced the chorus of Democrat candidates calling to abolish I.C.E. hoping that voters will forget.

Now none of them will admit they want to transform America into an open borders “utopia” like socialist Europe.

But Democrats have blocked funding for the wall and nearly any border security measure at every turn.

And now the chickens are coming home to roost for the Democrats right before voters head to the polls.
