Mueller thought he found a witness to betray Trump but then something strange happened
Robert Mueller’s rigged witch hunt is in its final stages.
And Mueller thought he scored a major win in his quest to take down Donald Trump.
But then something strange happened.
When Mueller forced Paul Manafort to plead guilty to crimes unrelated to the 2016 election, journalists cheered.
They thought Manafort – with his business ties to Russia – could provide the smoking gun that proved Donald Trump colluded with the Russians.
But this was just the latest bombshell to fizzle out.
Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told Reuters that Manafort’s lawyer informed him Manafort did not offer any incriminating testimony against the president.
Fox News reports:
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort hasn’t said anything damaging about President Trump to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators, Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said.
Giuliani told Reuters that Manafort’s lawyer, Kevin Downing, kept in touch with the president’s team regarding his client’s meetings with the investigators probing the alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
“He’s just telling me the conclusion that he’s not in a conflicted position with us,” Giuliani said, according to the report.
Giuliani said he spoke with Downing as recently as last week under a joint defense agreement that allows two attorneys to speak about their clients without violating attorney-client privilege.
This is terrible news for Mueller.
Manafort was the last “big fish” in his prosecutorial cross hairs.
If Manafort gave him nothing on Trump then his entire investigation has been a waste.
