Mike Pence said two words that are going to drive Donald Trump crazy
If Mike Pence thought he had any chance of getting back in Donald Trump’s good graces before 2024, that idea went out the window.
Pence tore the scab off the biggest wound of the Trump Presidency.
And Mike Pence said two words that are going to drive Donald Trump crazy.
Former Vice President Mike Pence appeared at a Young Americans for Freedom event at the University of Iowa where he took questions from the audience.
An audience member named Jared asked Pence about the events of January 6.
“On January 5th, you were convinced that the election was correctly stolen,” Jared began. “You, Trump, Peter Navarro, John Eastman, and others had a plan on the morning of the 6th to send the certification back to the states.”
The questioner wanted to know who convinced Pence to “buck President Trump” and not reject results from the 2020 election.
“On the night of the 5th or the morning of the 6th, someone in the White House convinced you that it would destroy your hopes of becoming president if you sent it back to the states. My question is what is the name of the person who told you to buck President Trump’s plan and certify the votes?” the student concluded.
“James Madison,” Pence responded.
Pence expanded upon his answer explaining that the framers of the Constitution set up a system where the states governed election administration.
Pence also claimed the story the questioner recounted was not true.
“Everything you’ve recited relative to me is false,” Pence added.
Donald Trump still contends Pence had the ability to reject certified results of the Electoral College.
Both Trump and Pence are rumored to run for President in 2024.
Should Trump and Pence enter the 2024 contest, the two will finally have a debate in public about January 6.
And you can be sure that neither Pence or Trump will back down from their positions about the 2020 elections.
