Maxine Waters was just caught red-handed in a scandal that could land her in hot water
Maxine Waters is enjoying her time in the leftists’ limelight as the head of the anti-Trump “resistance.”
But now she’s facing new scrutiny about a campaign finance scandal.
And it brought her entire political world crumbling down.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) was tipped off about a fundraising scheme used by Maxine Waters.
Fox News reports:
Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, one of the most outspoken members of the anti-Trump ‘resistance’ in Congress, is facing fresh questions about a longstanding controversy regarding how her campaign raises money and how those funds have flowed to her daughter.
The California congresswoman has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars each election cycle from some of her state’s biggest politicians paying to be listed on her slate mailers—sample ballots traditionally mailed out to about 200,000 voters in Los Angeles highlighting whom she supports.
Since 2004, the campaign in turn reportedly has paid $750,000 to the congresswoman’s daughter, Karen Waters, or her public relations firm Progressive Connections for help producing them.
A government watchdog in July filed the first of two complaints with the Federal Election Commission asking for a full audit of the Citizens for Waters campaign.
Maxine Waters is funneling campaign contributions to her daughter’s PR firm, to the sum of $750,000.
She is even getting other campaigns to pay for this alleged service the PR firm provides.
Fundraising schemes and nepotism are common among politicians across the political spectrum.
But Maxine Waters has taken it to a whole new level.
This recent fundraising scheme on top of her call to extreme leftwing activists to harass Trump supporters and cabinet members show she’s blatantly flouting the law.
If the Federal Election Commission finds her guilty, Rep. Waters could face enormous fines and penalties.
