Joy Reid Claims MAGA Supporters Would “Commit Jihad” For Trump Despite Left-Wing Assassination Of Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk's assassination by a left-wing extremist on September 10 sent shockwaves through America.
The radical Left celebrated his death on social media while demanding conservatives be silenced.
But Joy Reid just doubled down with one outrageous claim that proves the Left learned nothing from Kirk's murder.
Reid Calls MAGA a Murderous Cult Weeks After Leftist Kills Kirk
Fired MS NOW host Joy Reid appeared on the I've Had It podcast and launched into a deranged tirade against Trump supporters that would make any rational person's jaw drop.
Reid claimed Republicans live in constant fear that Trump's "cult" supporters will assassinate them if they dare cross the former President.
"The fear is — and a lot of politicians have said this on and off the record — the fear is that if you don't obey him, his cult will try to kill you," Reid said.
She didn't stop there.
Reid accused MAGA supporters of being "armed to the teeth" religious fanatics who would literally "commit jihad for Trump."
"There are a lot of people who claimed and told [former Republican Utah Sen.] Mitt Romney this, and then Mitt Romney snitched on them and said people wanted to vote to impeach, but they were afraid that they'd be assassinated by Trump supporters because MAGA supporters are armed to the teeth," Reid ranted. "They are rabid in their support of him, and it's a religion, and so they will commit jihad for Trump."
The Atlantic reported in September that there were more left-wing than right-wing terror attacks in 2025 as of July 4.¹
But Reid's warped reality apparently doesn't include the fact that Trump himself survived two assassination attempts — or that Charlie Kirk was murdered by a leftist extremist while speaking at Utah Valley University.
The Real Record of Political Violence
Kirk's suspected assassin, Tyler Robinson, was reportedly in a relationship with a transgender male named Lance Twiggs.²
Robinson's parents are said to have told authorities that their son had become "more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented" ahead of the assassination, according to Utah County Attorney Jeffrey Gray.²
Robinson also texted Twiggs that he had "had enough of [Kirk's] hatred."²
The charging documents paint a crystal-clear picture: this was a politically motivated assassination by someone radicalized by left-wing ideology.
Kirk's murder sparked celebrations across left-wing social media.
Grabien News founder Tom Elliot posted a supercut on September 12 showing multiple leftists rejoicing over Kirk's assassination.³
Multiple Democrats blamed Republicans for a rise in political violence after Kirk's assassination — even as their own supporters were literally celebrating the murder of a conservative activist.³
YouGov published a poll just after Kirk's killing that found 25% of those who identified as "very liberal" believed political violence could be warranted occasionally.⁴

That's one in four far-left Americans who think assassination is sometimes justified.
Projection Is All The Left Has
Hunter Biden claimed on the Wide Awake Podcast on November 6 that Kirk's assassination actually benefited MAGA.⁵
"I don't know why Charlie Kirk was shot, but I do know this. It's only served one group of people, Charlie Kirk's death. MAGA," Biden said. "They have taken this. They have wrapped themselves in it. They have righteous indignation."⁵
Tucker Carlson alleged in a November 14 documentary that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the first would-be assassin of Trump, became radically opposed to the then-former President in a brief period of time.⁶
In a YouTube comment from January 2020, Crooks allegedly referred to Trump's "stupidity" and accused Trump supporters of sounding like a "cult."⁶
The pattern is unmistakable.
Left-wing extremists commit actual political violence — including the murder of Charlie Kirk and two attempts on Trump's life.
Then the Left's media mouthpieces like Joy Reid turn around and accuse conservatives of being the violent cult.
It's classic projection from people who can't defend their own side's track record of assassination attempts, riots, and domestic terrorism.
Reid sits safely in her studio accusing Trump supporters of being armed religious fanatics ready to commit "jihad" while ignoring the corpse-strewn trail of left-wing political violence across America.
The Left learned absolutely nothing from Charlie Kirk's murder.
They're still out there demonizing conservatives, calling MAGA a murderous cult, and pretending the real threat comes from Trump supporters — not from their own radicalized base that actually pulls triggers.
