Joe Biden’s facing an investigation that could expose his biggest crime in Afghanistan
Joe Biden’s disaster in Afghanistan keeps finding new ways to damage the administration and the Democrat Party.
Each day finds a new low.
And now Joe Biden’s facing an investigation that could expose his biggest crime in Afghanistan.
Donald Trump negotiated a deal with the Taliban to get the U.S. out of Afghanistan by May 1.
Joe Biden scrapped that plan for a new withdrawal date of September 11 before moving it up to August 31.
Clearly, Biden and his handlers were angling for either a big Primetime announcement on the 20th Anniversary of 9-11 that the troops had come home or option two – a big photo-op with returned veterans on September 11.
Big problems emerged in either case, but choosing the latter means Biden possibly committed a crime.
The Ethics Watchdog Group Public Trust filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the Department of the Interior as part of an investigation into if the Biden administration broke the law by seeking to use public lands for political purposes by staging a victory lap on the 20th anniversary of 9-11 after bringing all the troops home.
Public Trust wrote:
This artificially imposed deadline was in part responsible for the chaotic and deadly evacuation that failed to extract thousands of those the President had promised to get out of the country before military forces departed. If these actions were undertaken for political purposes with the assistance of political appointees and the use of public lands and other government resources, they may have constituted violations of the law. The American public deserves to know if political considerations were involved in this humiliating episode in U.S. history and to what extent officials of the agency that oversees America’s public lands (the Department of the Interior) aided these efforts.
Biden’s decision to move the withdrawal date to coincide with the September 11 commemorations backfired spectacularly when he ended up removing U.S. troops in the middle of the Taliban’s fighting season.
That allowed the Taliban to take over the entire country and essentially hold American citizens hostage because Biden withdrew the army first.
Biden then redeployed 6,000 troops to secure the Kabul Airport.
Yet Biden’s ineptness and failure to support those troops and allow them to defend American lives meant he not only still failed to evacuate every American, but also opened the door for the deaths of 13 U.S. troops in an ISIS terrorist attack.
