Joe Biden is facing one poll result that could upend the 2020 election
Right now, Joe Biden leads Donald Trump in the polls.
But that lead may not be as secure as Biden and his fellow Democrats think.
That’s because Joe Biden is facing one poll result that could upend the 2020 election.
Donald Trump needs to make the election a choice between himself and Joe Biden.
As long as it remains a referendum on Trump, Joe Biden can hide in his basement and stands a strong chance of winning the election.
However, if the President can focus the race on Biden then Biden’s weakness as a candidate could prove to be his downfall.
One path to victory in this scenario rests on disqualifying Biden through attacking his deteriorating mental state.
A new Rasmussen poll shows 38 percent of voters – including 20 percent of Democrats – believe Joe Biden has dementia.
The survey found that 38 percent of voters, overall, believe he has dementia, while 20 percent within his own party say the same. According to Rasmussen, “that compares to 66% of Republicans and 30% of voters not affiliated with either major party.”
The survey also asked respondents, “How important is it for Biden to address the dementia issue publicly – very important, somewhat important, not very important or not at all important.”
A majority, 61 percent, of all voters believe it is “important” for the former vice president to address the issue publicly, “with 41% who say it is Very Important.”
As long as the focus of the election rests on Donald Trump, Joe Biden can safely campaign as a “generic Democrat.”
That’s allowed him to build a significant lead in the polls.
But Joe Biden cannot hold up under scrutiny.
And questions about his dementia could prove fatal if voters decide the election is a choice between two alternatives.
