Joe Biden had this head-turning reaction to a devastating new poll that could end his career
At this point in his administration, Joe Biden is the most unpopular President in history.
That is forcing Democrats to confront a harsh reality about the 2024 election.
And Joe Biden had this head-turning reaction to a devastating new poll that could end his career.
Democrats are making it clear they want a new candidate in 2024.
Even Democrats are forced to accept the reality that Joe Biden is too old, too incompetent, and too much of a failure to win another election.
The latest dagger through the heart of Biden’s political fortunes was a New York Times/Siena poll showing just 33 percent of Americans approved of the job Biden was doing as President.
This poll also showed overwhelming numbers of Democrats who want Biden to step down and not run for re-election in 2024.
At a Congressional picnic at the White House, reporters asked Biden about these bleak poll numbers.
Biden responded by misrepresenting the poll, claiming 92 percent of Democrats would vote for him.
“They want me to run,” Biden declared. “Read the poll. Read the polls, Jack. You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me.”
What Biden was referring to was the fact that the poll showed 92 percent of Democrats would vote for him in a matchup against Donald Trump.
But the poll showed 64 percent of Democrats do not want to see Biden run for re-election.
“President Biden is facing an alarming level of doubt from inside his own party, with 64 percent of Democratic voters saying they would prefer a new standard-bearer in the 2024 presidential campaign, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll, as voters nationwide have soured on his leadership, giving him a meager 33 percent job-approval rating,” the New York Times reported.
The poll also found a whopping 94 percent of voters under the age of 30 and a plurality of black voters also want to see Joe Biden step aside in 2024.
The New York Times reports:
In the survey, 94 percent of Democrats under the age of 30 said they would prefer a different presidential nominee…
…Mr. Biden’s base, in 2020 and now, remains Black voters. They delivered the president a 62 percent job-approval rating — higher marks than any other race or ethnicity, age group or education level. But even among that constituency, there are serious signs of weakening. On the question of renominating Mr. Biden in 2024, slightly more Black Democratic voters said they wanted a different candidate than said they preferred Mr. Biden.
No President ever lost more support in a shorter time frame than Joe Biden.
But no President ever racked up such a stunning list of failures – inflation, gas prices, the economy, the border, and Afghanistan – in such a short period of time.
Democrats recognize this reality while Joe Biden is still pretending they don’t.
