Joe Biden found out some bad news about the Supreme Court that Democrats are going to hate
Democrats continue to grow frustrated about the Supreme Court.
Donald Trump nominating three justices put the Court out of reach for Leftists to control for at least a generation.
And now Joe Biden found out some more bad news about the Supreme Court that Democrats are going to hate.
When the Republican Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett to take Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat, Democrats threw a temper tantrum.
Barrett gave conservatives a six-to-three majority on the Court and turned the prospect of overturning Roe v. Wade into a realistic probability.
Democrats tried to bully the GOP out of confirming Barrett by threatening to pack the Supreme Court if they won the White House and the Senate in the 2020 election.
Republicans ignored the bluster and confirmed Barrett anyway.
Joe Biden responded by appointing a commission to study reforms to the Supreme Court.
Since there is no chance of Biden and the Democrat-run Senate flipping the Supreme Court through the normal confirmation process, Biden sought out some extra-constitutional methods for leftists to seize control of the Supreme Court.
But Democrats did not like what Biden’s commission reported back.
The commission threw cold water on the idea of packing the Supreme Court, noting that it would destroy the court’s legitimacy in America and abroad.
“Some Commissioners believe that there is a real risk that the willingness of Congress to expand the size of the U.S. Supreme Court could further weaken national and international norms against tampering with independent judiciaries. Politicians at home and abroad who might wish to control their nation’s courts might find themselves emboldened to take such actions if the United States engages in Court expansion, regardless of the reasons for the U.S. expansion… Other Commissioners believe that these potential risks do not justify the rejection of expansion proposals in the United States,” the report read.
Also left unsaid is the reality that if Democrats packed the Supreme Court now, Republicans would then add additional conservative justices the next time there was a GOP President and Senate – which very well could happen by 2025.
