Jen Psaki just picked one fight with Ron DeSantis that instantly blew up in her face
Democrats still haven’t learned their lesson.
The Biden administration is continuing to go after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
And Jen Psaki just picked one fight with Ron DeSantis that instantly blew up in her face.
Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo announced that Florida would be the first state to buck Centers for Disease Control guidance and not recommend the controversial coronavirus vaccine for healthy children between the ages of 5 and 11.

Dr. Ladapo cited a study from the New York Department of Health that showed declining prevention of infection for children during the omicron surge.
The study also showed that vaccine efficacy decreased from 68 percent to 12 percent.
In his announcement, Dr. Ladapo explained there is not enough data to quantify if the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the potential harms for young and healthy children – especially since they are at the lowest risk of a bad outcome.
“We’re kind of scraping at the bottom of the barrel — particularly with healthy kids — in terms of actually being able to quantify with any accuracy and any confidence the even potential of benefit,” Ladapo stated.
At a White House press briefing, a reporter asked about the state of Florida’s decision, which Psaki promptly denounced.
“Absolutely not,” Psaki began. “Let me just note that we know the science, we know the data and what works and what the most effective steps are in protecting people of a range of ages from hospitalization and even death. The FDA and the CDC have already weighed in on the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines for those 5 and older.”
Psaki claimed that not recommending the vaccine was “peddling conspiracy theories.”
“It’s deeply disturbing that there are politicians peddling conspiracy theories out there and casting doubts on vaccinations when it is our best tool against the virus and the best tool to prevent even teenagers from being hospitalized,” Psaki added.
But even the FDA’s own advisory panel expressed misgivings about states mandating young children take the vaccine.
“I do think that it’s a relatively close call… but we’re never going to learn about how safe the vaccine is until we start giving it,” FDA advisor Eric Rubin stated.
“We cannot see the effects of COVID-19 so dramatically on children, and thus it raises the question: is it worth the risk? Giving parents the option to make that decision for themselves will be something we will be glad we were able to do,” FDA advisor Dr. Oveta Fuller said at the time.
European countries looked at the same data and came to the same conclusion as the state of Florida.
Ron DeSantis continues to lead by following the science.
And that is what terrifies Democrats.
