Democrats bizarrely think they stumbled upon a winning issue with the deportation of illegal alien MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia to his native El Salvador.

The Left is betting big that their arguments about “due process” – they want years long criminal trial and appeals process for illegal aliens that will effectively result in no deportations – will override the fact that Trump deported an illegal alien to his home country after two immigration judges issued a removal order and found Garcia to be a member of Ms-13.

“It’s part of a calibrated approach that Democrats are betting will keep the debate focused on the Trump administration’s refusal to bring Abrego Garcia back to the United States, after a federal judge ordered them to “facilitate” his return and the Supreme Court upheld the decision. In interviews with nearly a dozen Democratic lawmakers and strategists, they said the real-life implications of Trump’s deportation of the native Salvadoran offer an opening to turn what could be an esoteric argument about democratic rights into a vivid cautionary tale,” POLITICO reported.

Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador to plead for Garcia’s release after a Democrat judge issued an order demanding Trump bring Garcia back to the United States and the Supreme Court ruled Trump had to “facilitate” Garcia’s release.

But Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador in the custody of his home country’s sovereign government and the courts have no jurisdiction to order El Salvador to release Garcia.

Jasmine Crockett was on MSNBC doing her part to keep the Garcia deportation at the top of the Democrat Party messaging telling host Katie Phang that more Democrats should follow Van Hollen’s lead and how in El Salvador to grandstand for Garcia’s release.

“Yeah. No, absolutely,” Crockett urged. “So first of all, kudos to Senator Van Hollen. And honestly, that’s what it looks like to be an elected representative. He represents Maryland.”

Garcia is an illegal alien.

Crockett tried to confuse the issue by calling Garcia a “Maryland resident”  – which was an attempt to trick viewers into thinking Garcia had a right to live in America or was a United States citizen.

“This is someone who is a Maryland resident. And he decided that he was going to go down there and check on him. And honestly, I don’t know that I was convinced that he was alive. I really don’t. And so I was happy to see that he was alive, number one,” Crockett added.

Crockett then claimed that since government officials could travel back and forth between El Salvador and the United States that it should be no problem for El Salvador to release Garcia.

“But number two, if Senator Van Hollen can get down there, if the president can get up here and get to the White House, then I don’t understand why we can’t get Abrego up out of there,” Crockett continued.

Democrats latched onto the idea that Garcia didn’t have a criminal conviction record as evidence he should still be in America.

Crockett claimed Garcia’s lack of a criminal record made him a more upstanding individual than President Trump.

“I mean, we know that they admitted that they were wrong. Now they’re trying to double back and say, well, he’s this terrible person and all this kind of stuff. But here’s the reality. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a lot less criminal than the person that’s sitting in the White House, because last time I checked, he doesn’t have any criminal convictions,” Crockett concluded.

Deporting illegal alien gang members is yet another 80/20 issue Democrats are on the wrong side of.
