Ilhan Omar’s life just got flipped upside down by the last person she expected

Since being elected to Congress, Ilhan Omar has spent all of her time trashing America.

This is despite it being the very country she fled to from Somalia as a child.

And her life just got flipped upside down by the last person she expected.

One would think that Ilhan Omar would be more grateful for the United States, considering it is the country she fled to after being born in war-torn Somalia.

Despite this, she constantly bashes the country, and demands it change to adapt with her far-left views, which would make the nation look more like the very place she is seeking refuge from.

In a recent speech, she went so far as to call for “dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it,” citing the United States as hosting that oppression.

This comment naturally infuriated many who love the United States for the immense freedom it offers.

And it also infuriated Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Dutch anti-radical Islam activist who, like Omar, was born in Somalia before seeking refuge elsewhere.

Ali’s work has made her a major target for radical Islam, which forces her under 24/7 armed security due to multiple fatwas placed on her head.

Speaking to Dana Perino on Fox News, Ali went after Omar for her comments.

“She’s in Congress – the United States Congress,” Ali said, “and she is saying ‘Why don’t we dismantle the whole thing?’ . . . It makes you wonder.”

“Why flee from Mogadishu, why flee from anarchy, why flee from oppression – and then come to the United States and do all your best to turn Minnesota and the U.S. into Mogadishu?” Ali continued. “It’s one of the things I’d like to ask her.”

That’s a good question, that Omar will certainly never answer.

Ali knows about this better than perhaps anybody.

When she fled to The Netherlands from Somalia in the early 1990s, she initially continued to support the radical Islamic ideas she was taught in her home country.

She wore her full Hijab everyday to leave the house, and is even documented supporting fatwas similar to what she has on her head now on critics of Islam.

Those same people she once supported fatwas on are now her allies.

Omar could learn a thing or two from Ali.

But instead, she keeps company with organization with documented ties to Islamic terrorism, like the Center for American Islamic Relations.
