Hunter Biden admitted to one thing that torpedoed Joe Biden’s campaign
Hunter Biden just threw the 2020 election into chaos.
He sat for an interview with ABC to push back on Donald Trump’s attacks that he engaged in corrupt business practices in Ukraine.
But Hunter admitted to one thing that torpedoed his father’s campaign.
After weeks of Donald Trump accusing him of corruption for accepting a $50,000-per-month payment from a Ukrainian energy company while his father was Vice President, Hunter Biden tried to put this matter to rest in a softball interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Apparently the pitches weren’t slow enough for Hunter Biden, as the interview was disastrous.
Biden confessed to engaging in poor judgment and that he never would have gotten that job — or any of his other prominent positions — had he not been the Vice President’s son.
“In retrospect, look, I think that it was poor judgment on my part,” the younger Biden said. “Is that I think that it was poor judgment because I don’t believe now when I look back on it — I know that there was — did nothing wrong at all. However, was it poor judgment to be in the middle of something that is a swamp in—in—in many ways? Yeah.”
“So I take full responsibility for that,” he continued. “Did I do anything improper? No, not in any way. Not in any way whatsoever. Did I make a mistake based upon some ethical lapse? Absolutely not.”
Biden acknowledged he would “probably not” have gotten the board position Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma if he were not the son of the vice president. However, he denied impropriety or any ethical lapse.
“I gave a hook to some very unethical people to act in illegal ways to try to do some harm to my father,” Biden on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”. “That’s where I made the mistake.”
Biden’s disastrous interview gave Donald Trump and all of Joe Biden’s Democrat rivals the news cycle they wanted — cable TV was dominated by Hunter Biden admitting to sketchy business dealings.
When asked about Hunter’s confession in the Democrat Presidential debate, his denial of wrongdoing rang empty.
For weeks Biden’s campaign was on a downward trajectory. Hunter Biden may be what finally sinks it.
