How the State Department announced it was spending $10 Billion will infuriate you
The leftwing media is jumping for joy.
They are reporting that Trump is backing down on his promise to build the wall.
And what the government decided to spend taxpayer dollars on instead will make you furious.
The U.S. State Department announced it is sending $10 Billion in foreign aid to Central America.
In a statement, the State Department said it was committing to “$5.8 billion in support of institutional reforms, development, and economic growth” in Central America.
It went on to commit to “private and public investment in Mexico totaling 4.8 billion, to include committing $2 billion for suitable projects in southern Mexico.”
The State Department’s press release stated:
The United States and Mexico today commit to strengthen and expand our bilateral cooperation to foster development and increase investment in southern Mexico and in Central America to create a zone of prosperity. Both countries recognize the strong links between promoting development and economic growth in southern Mexico and the success of promoting prosperity, good governance, and security in Central America. The United States welcomes the Comprehensive Development Plan launched by the Government of Mexico in concert with the governments of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to promote these goals. The United States and Mexico will lead in working with regional and international partners to build a more prosperous and secure Central America to address the underlying causes of migration, and so that citizens of the region can build better lives for themselves and their families at home.
They claim they are trying to get to the root cause of the immigration problem by throwing American taxpayer cash at the economies of countries like Honduras.
But the media told us all the illegals in the migrant caravan were seeking asylum – not immigrating for economic reasons.
Foreign aid has proven to be like throwing money into a black hole.
Third world nations become dependent on U.S. foreign aid.
And it props up dictators or corrupt governments that funnel away American taxpayer cash to pay for their own lavish lifestyles.
Senator Rand Paul has pointed out that 76 percent of all foreign aid went to the most corrupt countries as rated by an independent third party.
No one bats an eye at shipping off cratefuls of cash to foreign governments.
But getting $5 Billion to fund the border wall is like pulling teeth.
We must secure our border first.
