Shooter carved anti-ICE hatred into his ammunition
Federal authorities dropped a bombshell Wednesday when they revealed what the Dallas ICE facility shooter had etched into his ammunition.
The gunman didn’t just target immigration enforcement officers – he literally carved his hatred into every bullet.
FBI Director Kash Patel shared a photograph of ammunition recovered from the scene that had “ANTI ICE” carved directly into the metal casing.
“One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase ‘ANTI ICE.’ More updates will be forthcoming,” Patel posted on X.¹
Joe Rothrock, who leads the FBI’s Dallas Field Office, explained that investigators discovered multiple pieces of evidence with similar anti-ICE messaging.
“What I can share with you is that early evidence we’ve seen from rounds that were found near the suspected shooter contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature. Again, this is just the most recent example of this type of attack,” Rothrock told reporters Wednesday morning.²
Joshua Jahn, the 29-year-old gunman, died from what authorities described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound after the attack.
None of the ICE personnel or other law enforcement officers sustained injuries during the shooting, though the attack left two people dead and another wounded.

FBI reveals pattern targeting immigration enforcement

FBI Director Patel connected the dots between this shooting and previous attacks on immigration enforcement.
“These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off. We are only miles from Prarieland, Texas, where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers,” Patel wrote.³
The FBI chief made it clear that federal authorities are tracking these incidents as part of a broader campaign against immigration enforcement.
This isn’t random violence – it’s systematic targeting of federal agents.
“It has to end, and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice,” Patel continued.⁴
Texas Senator Ted Cruz called out the dangerous rhetoric that’s been fueling these attacks.
“Politicians demanding that ICE agents be doxed and calling for people to go after their families: stop,” Cruz said during the press conference. “Violence has no place. It is wrong, and we should come together.”⁵
